I love that intro - Kmart is buying Sears, Roebuck & Co. for $11 billion in a deal that will marry two of the nation's oldest, but troubled, retailers into the No. 3 retail chain.

And although KMart is doing the buying, the company will be renamed "Sears Holdings." Guess the dual forces of Rainman and Martha Stewart were too much for them to bare.

I used to own some K-Mart stock. Back when they went bankrupt, that stock got wiped out :( I say "Bah!"

:frocket:

So, does that mean we'll see Blue Light specials at Sears now?

Hmmm... instead of being two large stores going to hell in a hand basket they can become one mega company going to hell in a hand basket!

Hmmm, I wonder if K-Mart can return Sears within 10 days for a full refund...

I hope they forget my sears card bill in the process of re-organizing.

I think they're big enough to require a shopping cart to go to hell in, rather than just a handbasket!

Actually, the thing both those stores have going for them is they own some very, very expensive real estate. Lots and lots of it.
