Since epic is my only slot with aug 4 and I rarely melee (skills almost maxed), what would be a good recommendation for an augment for my epic?

The only one I could find searching that would go in primary slot was the 20hp/mana augment from Deepest Guk... Ooze-Covered Pebble of Perfection, 1150 points. That would probably be your best bet if you don't intend to melee.

...but I do sometimes toy with the spellshield idea. That might just be interesting from time to time. Not a great proc, but still it is something.

I have also thought about putting the life tap proc on it for those times I solo for tradeskill components...extra dmg and in fight healing...

Nothing terribly exciting but still a maybe...

See, I was thinking spellshield or mirror...but since they are procs would be rarely used.

Lifetap proc is a possibility.....I'll keep looking for ideas though! :)

I'd say lifetap proc prolly. Or a 40 hp augment, since the epic has crap for hp =-( I'd use that if you never ever want to melee, but especially with a proc (of any type) meleeing can be amusing =-p

[Edit] accutaly, I suppose the 40 hp isn't primary usable.. so ya 20 hp/20mana is probably the best you can use.. but I'd definently just go for some proc that you find amusing in that case.

Heh ... I spend tons of dkp for 20hp/20mana upgrades. To get an augment that is "free" is excellent.

P.S.
When I say "free" I mean that I do adventures for the sake of doing adventures. I don't do them for exp or loots but instead, it's a good way to hang with friends or meet new ones when not raiding.

I'm in a merit guild, but yah, same thing. I put in ALOT of time to get small 20 hp/mana upgrades. To be able to add 40 more mana to all visible slots and 20 hp/mana upgrades to the rest (without factoring in the actual items I intend to "create" from scratch) will make a noticable difference. Time well spent since I'm enjoying the dungeons tremendously.

Actually I think I found a semi decent option for epic aug.

That is type 3 and would not fit into the epic.

Type 3 should fit in type 4 as long as it is primary allowed.

Type 4 should hold 4,3,2,1 (Barring any other slot restrictions)

I don't believe this is the case - others have tested it and say that a type 2 will not fit in a type 4 slot, so I would assume that the only things that will fit in a type 4 slot are type 4 augs and ALL type augs.

I heard a rumou that type 1 augs fit in all slots too, but that's un-tested.

That could be true, i never tried it with anything but a type 1 in a 4 (Which may have been an all).

I had read it worked, but we know how that goes. :confused:

If Slot 3 items were permitted, the epic could be augmented to add the following:

Spell Haste IV;
Extended Range IV; or
FT II

That would make a great deal of sense as an upgrade; however, I do not believe that the Epic would take a Slot 3 augment.

ft would be best, imo.

Actually I think you are correct, slot threes can't be put on slot 4 type. In my excitement I was thinking epic was type 3, not type 4.

Back to the drawing board. :(

has anyone figured out what we can use now since they changed all the numbers? Boy am I confused..

I was perusing the LDoN list on Squidbox. I began to rethink this request on this thread.

Will the "all" type augments work on epic? Do they truly go into ANY augment position?

If so, my epic might just get a wis or sta boost (Peerless Fragment of Intellect or Peerless Sphere of Fortitude).
