I loaded up my 2 highest PBAOE (the 66 one and the previous one) on a raid the other night to help out clearing of a load of trash mobs....

Imagine my supprise when casting one, caused them both to time out???

Since when did they stick that in?

Since OoW release....

Upheavel and Catrophe (the PoP PBAE) have always been on two separate timers. The OOW PBAE happens to be an upgrade to catatrophe, not upheavel. Experimenting with pre upheavel AE's coulda been a good idea to figure this kinda stuff out.

You can see what spells are linked in the 'Timer ID' field on lucy. Enchanter nukes were linked such that non-raiding enchanters are basically hosed. Enchanters have to chain 2 nukes to do any damage because of the recast time and the standard god nuke (madness of ikkibi) and the standard oow nuke (psychosis) share the same timer. So without ancient nukes enchanters would have to chain psychosis and the old pop nuke (insanity). Seems like they've done the same thing with catastrophe and earth shiver. Clearly it must be high on the agenda to stop the awesome power of priest AE damage and chanter nuking.

Earth Shiver & Upheaval are on separate timers, this combo works fine

Yep, its understandable. What I don't like about it, is that they snuck it in without saying a word. The mages and wizzies were in an uproar about it too when it first came out. However; with the servers being deflated by other games, they may want to reconsider this shared timer thing. It would help guilds that don't have a 70+ raiding base anymore finish events like Coirnav.
