Hi, my girlfriend and I have started playing EQ again. I have played on and off since original EQ (more off than on), and now currently have a 62 SK with 14 aa's. (http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=985901) She's been playing her 58 druid (http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=1168747) from long ago.

Normally we just go to places that I can solo easily - Velk's, Veksar ent, PoD tetsian flies, PoJ OZ, Acrylia Caverns and Dulak Tunnels. But the exp is rather slow and I know there has to be someplace better that I haven't tried, yet. Neither of us have any PoP flags. We do not have GoD or OOW, nor do I really intend on buying them - I've paid enough as it is o_O.

Where are some good places to go that we could either go together or her solo? What tactics should she use, what spells, etc - the more detail the better! I plan on adapting to whatever suggestion you can give..... I am part necro. ;p I know that any tier 2 PoP zone and beyond is going to be root/rot or kiting, as we have no means to slow and I can't take the hits. So, what are your suggestions?

POM zone in is quite good.

If you two group together the best strategy should be agro kiting. Druid grabs agro (spam tangling weed + flame lick on the mob), SK pet (with taunt off) follows the mob and hits. Both of you can throw in a dot to speed it up.

Try this strategy to see if you like it. If so then get the druid some AAs for Dire Charm. Greatly add to DPS (of course you'll need to move to some other places like POS since nothing can be dire charmed in POM).

If however you don't like agro kiting then the SK can tank with the druid CHealing him.

If the druid solo then charm-kiting is good.

PoM is pretty nasty if your trying to tank them unslowed, but aggro kiting is a good alternative.

Most of LoY should be doable with 58 druid healing.Try Torgirian Mines - thats deeper in LoY, If she does not yet have her Pure Blood spell you could also do that for her in Nadox. Since you can single pull mobs her healing should be more than adequate to keep you alive on unslowed mobs and they should probably still be mostly dark blue in Torgirians for sure.

If your into Velketors, head a little higher in. Try Upper spiders - they drop silks for the shawl quest and ore also - which sells good. Just remember some of those spiders like to be invisible so make sure your see invis is up.

You could also try aggro kiting in the pit in NC - Murkgliders are easily pulled single and you can run em around the end closest to the zone - again, they hit hard so you probably dont want to be tanking them unless you have alot of hp's.

PoJ basement isnt bad, and I think you should be ok there unslowed - just watch for multi pulls.

Hope that helps.

Uppers is where we almost always go in Velk's. If it's camped, there's no reason to go there. Occasionally, I get bored and pull warriors from the village, so I might try the pit. Uppers is getting mind-numbingly boring. Are there healers down there? I hate them!

I am definitely going to try PoM, thanks! I was trying to figure out how charming worked, as I have read that pom/pod/pon are good places to charm stuff, but I was confused - I thought that you would use the 55 charm spell and when I tried it, it didn't work. I ended up finding out I was using the wrong one...yeah, the 52 one is what I was supposed to be using. So, now it all makes sense.

What does stuff hit for and what summons? Straight up tanking, I am good up to 200. 300 if it's named, but that takes a whole bar of mana to keep me alive, generally. Thanks for the information!

POM zone-in: only named summon and see through invis. There are 4 named, one for each type of mobs. Spawn spots are fixed for the named. Ordinary mobs level range 51-55, hitting high 200 - mid 300 depending on level. hit pretty fast, double at least, tripple is normal. HP 13k-15k, run at 10% health. Druid can use level 44 fixation of Ro to reduce mobs' AC and atk (may get resisted). If you are not confident in straight tanking, you can first root-dot for a minute then melee. At level 58 roots do not hold well enough sometimes but once you hit 59 things are a lot better (level 60 roots are quite reliable).
