Well it's over.

So far it was quite painless from where I sit.
TONS of new faces around. Zones are alive and hoppin. Good bazaar turnout, lots of PoK buffers.

Everyones been friendly. The overall server tone seems pretty upbeat and I've yet to hear of any conflicts.

I'm quite pleased. I still think its beneficial to us all.

I received a warm :welcome:
from the CT folks. The /ooc in PoK got a little irritating as folks were arguing the "my server is better than your server" thing. I prefer to think of it as "our" server, because that's what it is. I think it's going to take at least a month or two for the dust to settle and people/guilds to get to know one another, but it seems like a good start.
Special thanks to Fen http://octoberskies.com/eq/love.gif

For people in foreign countries thats amazing; It means offtime players will be able to find more groups, and maybe even some raids.

Thank, Sildan. I can never decide between this one and the one I use on the Brell boards.

I just clicked on the Guild link to The Relentless on Cazic Thule on one of the posts.
GEEZ.....I read the requirements to be in that guild. Some players need 900aa plus they must be playing all the time?
Not only that......this guild keeps posting how they are the best, have always been the best...yada yada yada
I have never seen a guild with such a big ego.....are these folks kidding me?
Geez!!!
And of course they dont seem to need an Druids.

LOL, Tejaye.

If you have ever gone back and read our news posts we do a lot of tongue in cheek and goofy stuff. But Taosen mainly made that post I think to put a burr in the Brell's guilds coming over. Back in the day competition is what pushed us forward, and since we have had very little competition lately, we were hoping this merge would propel us further in progress.

As far as not needing druids, if you look at our roster, you will see that we have eight active druids with an average AA of 897. We have no need for another so they would have to play all the time in order to get in.

Obviously Tejaye, you do not play on the Cazic Thule server. If you did then you would know that The Relentless guild is the top guild on the server and earned the right to say those things and even though they did, they do not have to explain themselves. Also, the members are some of the nicest people on the server, especially the druids. As it is, they have a very strong and deep druid class that they do not feel needs anyone else, unless they are themselves a very strong player. I am sad that you would attack them like this in this forum, which is devoted to discussion of the merger and the effects on the game.

On that note, I am really happy to see all the new people on the CT server. I am able to find groups once again and have made several new friends and now have more druids to look to for advice and help as I progress through the parts of the game they have already done. I am glad to see that druid community on the new merged server getting along as well as we do.

Let me see if I can clear some stuff up on the AA. I am the Druid Class Officer of The Relentless. Thornsong is our Guild Leader(and a druid!!).

It was not an easy decision to close the druid class recruitment. I'm rather fond of druids if you didn't guess. Unfortunately, due to raid size limitations and us already having 8 active druids, adding more would mean benching druids during raids to make room for other classes. Thats an issue I'd like to avoid.

Below are the current druid requirements when the class is open. It's 241 Total AA I believe.

Healing Adept Mastery 3 *Oow
Healing Gift Mastery 3 *Oow
Spell Casting Mastery 3
Spell Casting Fury 3
Lightning Reflexes 5
Mass Group Buff
Exodus
Planar Power 5
Innate Enlightenment 5
Call of the Wild
Spirit of the Grove 3
Radiant Cure 3
Spell Casting Subtlety 3
* Spell - Pureblood

The comment about 900aa is referring to apps for a closed class. For example, druids are a closed class but if a druid comes to us with 900+aa, mad gear and tons of flags, we would "consider" opening up the class for that one person.

Hope that clears up any confusion.

On a final note, Our druids are all FANTASTIC EQ payers and it's more than a pleasure to play the game with each and every one of them!!

Generally speaking if you want to join a guild and your class is closed to that guild's recruitment, you had better a) outclass most of the guilded members of that class in order to be a successfull applicant or b) have a lot of balls and c) preferably both.

If The Relentless says they are the best it's because frankly they are. Even after the merger they remain the top guild on Cazic and have every right to demand high quality players, as every serious raiding guild does.

Just to note:

My guild is currently recruiting as well. http://cohort.ws/forums/showthread.php?t=27299

Note: Druids are on the "High" need. Reqs are Level 70, 300AA including SCM3, MGB, RC, SOW3, HA3

When the merger was announced I wasn't terribly concerned. My name wasn't randomly generated, not from any book I've ever seen, not common because I've never seen anyone else using it. Imagine my surprise when I logged in and found an x staring at me from the end of my name... Amazing, simply amazing.. Someone on Brell has a toon named Melae with more than 219 days of played time. I dunno if I should laugh or cry... I wish they'd log in so I can see who I lost my name to.. if its a dead account that would only add insult to injury.

Other than that, I have no complaints, everyone seems to be friendly, more traders in the bazaar, more people all over.

I'm just... dazed...

I thought the merge went smoothly, despite feeling like I was on Cazic just for a visit and a few strange rolling habits. I've met a bunch of cool people.

Though I have to admit I was one of the ones a tad saddened by loosing the brell name, but hopefully after reading the letter from the man *snicker* maybe we'll get a merged name to go with our mergered server.
