Not quite a MMORPG, but interesting.

Written by the same guys that made Diablo. No monthly charge.

The main difference is that while cities and outposts are traditional MMORPG style, everything else is instanced.

Limited class structure, but it allows for multi-classing (2 classes max). You use skill points to improve your powers. All Elementalist have access to the same spells/skills, but one may chose to have more powerful "fire" magic and the other "Cold."

No druids though =/

I have a feeling it may draw some players from WoW. Partly because of its pedigree, but also because of the soloing abilities and no subscription fees.

Like I said, the game is very solo friendly. To the point where, if you get a task that you can't do by yourself, you can get NPC's to help.

Thanks for the post. It looks interesting. I'll pick up a copy next time I am in town... er... next time I go to "the big city". :)

I am playing it currently, and I played during the Beta Weekend Events. The difference between GW and games such as WoW and EQ2 is that GW is heavily PvP based. If you are looking for good PvE content in GW, then you will probably be disappointed. Granted, the PvE has a good storyline and still is fairly interesting, but PvP is by far the major focus with Guild vs Guild, random team based PvP, or multiple teams going against eachother.

Yeah, definently not an MMORPG, as should be no surprise, it's really closer to Diablo 3 =-p Though with uninteresting classes mostly, and a very crappy loot system. The PvP is more passable than Diablos, but still gets dull pretty fast.

I thought the missions when they only had levels 15-20 in were rather interesting and fun. The classes and loot needed a lot of work though. They never did make the loot interesting. The PvP arena was fun enough for awhile, but gets dull and repetive real fast. Maybe it was my ranger/monk combination that made it feel that way, as rangers needed(still need) a lot of work in some ways. The last few weekends I played, it was really boring and I didn't feel like bothering to level up as the gameplay was so dull without the missions(which are either gone, or "high" level only).
