So, did they follow through with all of these yet?

We will be looking at the quality of Planes of Power item rewards and improving them where appropriate. Items for many of the lower tier gods will be upgraded and more rare items and NPCs will be added to the following zones as needed:

Crypt of Decay
Plane of Torment
Halls of Honor
Plane of Tactics
Plane of Innovation
Bastion of Thunder

Class Balance

We're still planning to take a look at improving the damage capabilities of melee classes, as they've fallen behind their magic-using counterparts at the very high end of the game. Finding the proper solutions for this situation will take some time. Some options being considered are:

Improve melee damage-increasing disciplines
Improve Planes of Power melee weapons

Additionally, we're looking at the concerns from players about their spells, and changing them where appropriate. The goal here is to remove annoying issues with spells, not necessarily to increase caster power overall.

Shields and blocking

We're planning on reviewing the possibility of giving an innate chance to block when using a shield. We've been hoping to do this for a while, and it should be getting a realistic review in the near future. We'd like to increase the value of shields, and make it a worthwhile choice for players who might normally dual-wield weapons or use a two-handed weapon. We plan on balancing this against classes which use shields by default, and therefore wouldn't be making any trade-offs to equip a shield.

I sort of remember that they said they were adding drops and the drops would fall at a better rate in those zones, but I haven't really seen it. There are a few items coming out of HoH but the drop rate is still pretty ridiculous.

I wonder if we'll see a patch at the end of the month that drastically changes melee's.

No, none of those. Those were first mentioned back in May I believe.

When did BoT mobs get their drop rates upped?

heheh

Melee have fallen behind Caster is the Very High End game. what a laugh.

My monk was running along the other day with mini trains due to FD being fairly in-effective when I brought 5 mobs on a Shammy. He was just out of range, I gave him a stern warning as I FD.

He engages the mob and with all the help I can muster (Mend, kill one and do about 10% on one other - then I FD and tell him sorry but he should run - bah what a laugh he rains all 4 corpses down on me, I can't even stand up my HP's are so low.) he essentially solos the remaining 4 mobs, does not lose his pet, and is at about 80% health.

I was 45, mobs were dark blue to me....shammy was blue to me as well. Level 44. Kinda tough mobs for that level range as this was LoY. Oh and I had twink equipment on, not sure if the Shammy did as I do not inspect other people pantaloons.

I am sick to death of this bull line about how problems are only at the high end game.

The freakin guy had 5 and then 4 mobs beating on him. I killed one with mend and some fancy twink gear. Guy SOLOS 4 mobs at the same time, and freakin buffed me after the ****ing fight.

I guess 44 means he could not have had KEI as well! Bah, so sick of this junk. I count myself lucky to have a group I play with that does not care what class I play. Of course I have to watch them play ping pong with the mob as they have no desire to let me keep aggro as its too slow and obv. can not tank good enough for them. I say a pox on them for this imbalance as High End game jive...they should be freakin embarasse.

Before Absor says it, I guess I will.

The future changes and plans listed on that website are not FOR September, they are posted IN September. There is a major difference.

Well, Dunno.

Maybe its just me, but i LOVE our monks.

They do a pretty good job in pulling, they dish out a good amount of damage.

And i will take them in a group everytime. =)

But yes, an SHM solo better than a Monk.

Every caster solo better than every Meleeclass.

In fact i dont care who's in my group, i do guildgroups only anyway.

Monks are not able to take damage like they used to, but they are great damage dealers for melee. Up until the change with monks, I always saw it as melees have excellent defense and casters have excellent offense. That to me was balanced. Now, however, it isn't entirely so. The monks were actually put in a bad situation due to the changes made to them.

Perhaps, but any confusion is of their own making. After all, they title the article themselves "Future plans FOR September."

Something less suggestive of immediate action would probably reduce frustration. Like "Future plans - September edition" or some such.

That was just the plans on that day, or the ones they had ready to publically speak about for that day.

They've been using that Syntax since then. Yes, it isn't really the best use of the language, but you think some people would catch in 4 months. (Yes, it has been 4 months.)

It doesn't matter if they are posted IN september since they have been posted the last five months too...

You expect to have something posted FIVE months ago to HAPPEN by September. People do know how to read and they also know when something is, looks, feels, gets proof that is sidetracked, disgarded, postponed, even if everyone know that classes are NOT balanced.

Ho, and, if you don't plan to stick to what you publicize then you better not post it for months on your website...

I thought the absor quote was supposed to be "We never actually gave a date when this was supposed to be done, it was for the future" Which really means, if we dont give a date it wont be done... right?

I dunno, I always assumed using a horse with old models was an acceptable option for over a year, and turns out I was mistaken... I thought my monk was supposed to be able to take a few hits for 3.5 years, guess I was wrong...

Long story short, it doesnt matter how long things are the way they are, this company has shown that they place no value in consitency. So you cant expect their customers to assume that they actually mean what they imply, and that will indeed mean the same thing next month.
