Is it true that if you buy the new DoD expansion from the store instead of downloading it, you get a Mechanical Boar in the game? I saw this on Castersrealm.
Is this a joke, the screenshots looked real. How is it possible to add a Boar Mount just from buying the expansion in a store?
What significance are Boars or Mechanical Boars to the new expansion? Is this Gnome related?

It's a 9k mount with an unusual graphic. You get it with /claim... just like the last 4 expansions had crap to claim if you bought them in the store.

I got the two in-game items in WOW and DON, however never got prompted to claim for GOD (just recently bought it). What is (or was) the item from GOD?

I dont know about that... I think the DoN items were pretty cool and useful (full mana and full hp potions).

If you do the DL and you get the box do you still get the spirit shroud and the mount?

You get the boar and a special spirit shroud if you buy the expansion in a store or through amazon.com, etc.

You DO NOT get the boar, but get the spirit shroud (and something else i believe) if you buy it through Sony's website as a Digital Download or you preorder it through Sony's website.

So if you Download it and later get the box can you get both?

I thought the formula (based on the eqlive site and login spam for DOD) was as follows:

Download: Gargoyle Spirit Shroud
Retail: Gargoyle Spirit Shroud + Clockwork Boar

So if you Download it and later get the box can you get both?

Glynna it would help if you cleared up what you mean by "downloading" it. Do you mean downloading the zone files through the patcher?

Actually to avoid more confusion:

if you get the expansion KEY to register it from a STORE BOUGHT CD, you will get both mount and spirit shroud

if you get the expansion registration KEY from SONY'S ONLINE STORE or through the game and NOT from a CD, then you get the spirit shroud only.

My big question is if I can get the boar for one character and the gargoyle for a second. I'd like to give the shroud to my bard but she isn't going to see much use for a mount, I'd like to give that to my necro.

There has never been an expansion that gave 2 rewards like this so I don't know if /claim will drop both on the character I claim with, but I assume so.

Anyone know if there's any truth to the rumor that these are castable/useable indoors?

Doh! Well I kindof figured that'd be too good to be true :rolleyes:

interested they turned out with a mechanical boar, i allways thought along the lines of gimmi a mechanical steamtank mount!

Can't find the thread now but a dev on the soe boards stated that they were exactly the same as other mounts (ie oudoors only) and I think they said it was the slowest mount but I'm not 100% on that.

Would be interesting to buy upgrades to the mechanical boar and be able to turbocharge it by combining a turbocharger with the boar item in a deluxe toolkit .
