This mob is in a camp located in the Undershore (2nd zone into DoD). As you zone in, turn to the left and cross a couple of bridges. You will fins a camp of mind flayers at the /loc above. There are also other mobs there. One seems to give out a task for single players, with the result being an intelligent weapon of some sort. Another gives out group missions, and another gives out raids.

Just as a warning, in Beta i received Glowing runes, not pages. So don't look for just parchments for spells to turn in (they did have a different icon than the glowing runes from OoW)

I tried to turn a rune in to him and it didn't work. I looted a lesser shadowspine rune, I'm assuming these are for spells? Anyone have more info?

You can purchase Circle of Undershore and Ring of Undershore from him, he's a vendor, they're relatively cheap.

It appears these minor, lesser shadowspire runes are just another way to get oow spells, i turned in a lesser and got a 67 spell I had been missing, others tried to turn them in that had all of their oow spells and he just returned them saying they had already scribed the spell, so apparently DoD spells are not through the runes, bummer i wasted all night on a camp for them.

I attempted to turn in a Greater Shadowspine Rune to Karsor the Mad. Now, I already have all my level 69 spells, but I didn't get that kind of message. He simply told me, "I have no need for this," and gave it back.

You need to turn it in to the npc Brother Hidden Path in undershore for the oow spells, sorry for not clarifying that.

I gave a Greater to Brother Hidden Path. He gave it back saying he had already scribed it for me. I went to Karsor the Mad and he did not want it. I already have all of my level 69 spells. If these are SoEs way of making the OoW runes easier to get then that is kinda sad imo. Also, if that is the case, then where are the DoD spells?

Yea, thats pretty sad :x . I got the greater rune thinking it was our 69 spell, went to turn it in and got it back.

Where do you find the OOW replacement runes? Which zones?

We got like 4 greaters in 2 or 3 hours in Ruins of Illsalin(sp?)

Shoot, to this day I still can't get any 69 or 70 spells. :(

My guild spent a night in Ruins of Illsalin or whatever its called.

We saw 8 Greater, 1 Glowing, and 1 regular Shadowspine Rune.

These mobs are as hard if not harder than RSS mobs. If your group can exp there, then you can handle RSS. That is why I feel this is kinda sad that they came up with this "alternative"

Also, what prior expansion have you ever had runes/spells drop from previous expansions? I am not talking about added recipes for researching, I mean, where in OoW could you get GoD spells? in GoD where can you find PoP spells? where in PoP did you find Luclin or Velious spells?? It doesn't seem to me to make any sense to do that.

Even when spells were similar and mixed in levels, Kunark spells you had to go to Kunark to get, or find them in the bazaar.

In GoD the sewer named dropped Luclin Spells..I got KEI there from a named recently doing a run for spells for a friend.

I got a pile of kunark or velious spells from random trash in natimbi a few months ago. Some kunark/velious/luclin spells were added as vendor sold in pok when PoP came out.

Prior to DoDh release we xp'd a bunch in RSS to bank the 30 AAs... saw Greaters rot there every single nite. If you need 69 spells, zone into RSS and sit there a few. You will see them ooc'd. If not, perhaps ask in ooc for a tell if a Greater is rotting. I personally hate to see any runes rot. When asked I have no problem sending a tell to someone stating a rune is available.
