I'm trying to change my signature because the one I entered when I joined was in HTML and is apparently very broken (see below, heh).

I'm trying to update it to vBCode, but when I edit my signature text and click the "Save Signature" button, nothing happens. The buttons on my other User CP pages work-- it's just the two buttons (Save Signature & Preview Signature) on that page.

How can I remedy this? If it matters, I'm using Firefox 1.0.7, but tried again in IE with the same result.

Can you post the code you're using in here? Be sure to enclose it with the code tags so that it becomes visible to us.

It's basically just an html link with text. The thing that's wonky about it, now that I look at it again, is that the endquote is missing from the a href tag. *hanging my head here*

Anyway, here goes:

<a href="http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=786854>Maiya, Druid of Tunare</a>

{a href="http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=786854"}Maiya, Druid of Tunare{/a}

The thing that's wonky about it, now that I look at it again, is that the endquote is missing from the a href tag.

That one?

Translates into:
<a href="http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=786854">Maiya, Druid of Tunare</a>

If all else fails:
{url=http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=786854}Maiya, Druid of Tunare{/url}

replace {} with [] for VBcode to work. It should be exactly the same thing... but i don't see why HTML won't work.

I can change the signature text in the box on the "Edit Signature" page, but I can't save the revised signature because the button doesn't work. :( I'm wondering if the problem may be that the missing endquote is preventing everything that follows the text box page from loading correctly, including the "Save Signature" button.

Do you know if there's another way for me to change my signature without using that page? I'm going to play around with it some more and see if I can get my browser to submit the revised form data without using that button.

EDIT: and yes... that was the missing endquote. Didn't see the bold on it. Doh.

Final update:

I ended up creating a second account, going to the edit signature page, logging out of the second account in another window and logging on to this account, and submitting the signature through the clean edit signature page that had been opened on the second account. Sure enough, it updated my signature on this account, and the "Save Signature" button works now.

Thanks for your help, Nimchip-- sorry I didn't think of this solution sooner.

It should be working now:
