Greetings
I was reading a thread in the archive forum about charm agro kiting in PoD, and it looked like a pretty decent way to make some good experience, so I tried it, but it's not working out as well as I'd hoped.
Here is the basic premise, so you don't have to go look up the thread:
You charm a rat and buff it up (snared makes it SO much easier when charm breaks), then pull another mob (any other mob, pretty much) and snare it with Bonds of Tunare, which slows the running speed more than ensnare, so that your pet is faster than the mob. You cast flame lick on it 3 times or so, then sick the pet, and according to the post, the mob should stayed agroe'd on you, so your pet never gets hurt.
The problem is that since that post was made, it appears that flame lick agro has been nerfed. I have tried casting it as much as 6 times before sending the pet, and eventually, the mob will turn on the pet, even if I continue to cast on it after that. Once the pet gets agro, I have not been able to get it back, either. Even sitting not far away doesn't draw agro back.
So, what I'd like to know is: are there any spells, low OR high level, that can generate the kind of agro that flame lick used to?
Some ideas I have, though they are pretty much just guesses are:
Ro's Smoldering Disjunction (lowers fire resist and AC, and nukes for 150
Moonfire or Wildfire (nukes are usually pretty decent agro, but not necessarily good agro per mana)
Breath of Ro (same line as flame lick, but higher level)
Panic Animal (resisted fear is usually a good agro producer, but two problems: first, it only works on animals, and second, I'm not sure it would be resisted)
Any other suggestions? I would of course prefer spells that produce good agro with little mana usage, but if higher level spells are the only way, I'd like to hear about those, too.
Thanks
