I have from several (cleric) sources been told that a combination of Abundant Healing 5 and Gift of Magic, will have Gift of Magic bugged and never fire. From what I understand this is only if maxed in both (GoM3 and AH5).
One example I was gives was 1400 casts and no GoM fired.

Yes. The combination of GoM/AH is bugged. The Devs know about it. They just haven't figured out how to fix it yet.

The reason why it's hard to fix. (http://eqforums.station.sony.com/eq/board/message?board.id=Veterans&message.id=147687)

Is there a special message or emote-type thing when GOM goes off? I just got 1st rank in it the other day and am wondering?

Thanks,

Namira

I have a audio trigger tied to GoM. I have it at 3 and it goes off alot imo. Had to change the trigger alittle so it didn't go off when it wore off. Was confusing me lol..

It is believed that depending on which you purchased first determines which actually works for you. Lets hope a fix come in time for PoR.

the issue as i see it is, if you own both GoM and AH ... GoM will not go off on heal spells.

however works just fine on nukes and dots for me.

I bought AH5 because rumors had it that the issue was fixed. However, this is not true :(
I see GoM fire often for my nukes, never for my heal.
Only time EVER I've seen AH5 fire was when using item heal (Kelp-Covered Hammer), and the reason for this I think, is that in previous patch SOE changed it so items no longer triggered GoM, that leaves them open to trigger AH instead.

I think SOE should a) fix AH/GoM ASAP instead of putting out yet another expansion (unlikely since it's probably not something you just fix) or b) refund the AA's spent on AH and stop coming with the excuse that people would just buy it again. If that's so, then those people that are stupid enough to do so have only themselves to thank for it.

GoM procs for me when I use Mask of the Ancients clicky still. Also I've noticed that AH only goes off when I cast NI -- have yet to see it go off from the ancient heal.

I've never seen GoM fire on any heals after I bought AH5. I've only seen AH fire on heals, when it was clicky heal from Kelp-Covered Hammer :(

GoM NEVER fires when I cast heals, which is primarily what I cast on raids. Since SoE seems more focused on putting out another expansion than fixing issues, I really think they need to refund the AH AAs and let us spend those elsewhere. I cannot believe after all this time they acknowledge an issue, tell us it is a deepseated core issue and they don't know how long til it's fixed and expect us to be happy with that response. If they refunded the AAs then perhaps we'd see GoM proc on heals. I feel like all of us who bought both AAs got cheated and SoE doesn't care.

Is Sony even aware of this bug?

I see nothing about it in their Developer's Corner.
http://eqforums.station.sony.com/eq/board?board.id=DevCorner&page=1

This should be a top priority for them, yet I don't even see it listed.

Of course, Sony refuses to communicate with us so who knows?

Fanra, see post 4 on this thread.
Thanks.

Nice to know that at least Sony is aware of the problem.

Now we only have to wait two or three years and it will be fixed (maybe).

I'm going to assume this wasn't fixed in the February 21 patch, correct?

I'm holding off on buying it until I hear it is fixed.

Is getting ridiculous that there hasn't been either a fix OR a refund. If it's broken fine, but the people who bought it (I haven't yet thankfully) have had to potentially deal with a deleterious effect from it that they can't avoid.

I've have both Gom 3 and AB 5 and i dont seem to have a problem with them. Gom works and Ab works. I know AB works because its went off a few times while i was soloing.

But will GoM ever fire off on a heal? That's what's broken I believe, and I'd FAR rather have GoM go off than AH.

This issue should be fixed as of PoR I've heard.

I agree. I definitely need confirmation that it is fixed before I put more AA's into AH.

Trust me, its STILL BROKEN. I didnt find out about this issue until after the double xp weekend when I finally bought that piece of crap AH5. I waited til I had nothing else to buy and boy am I sorry. My heals never proc GoM and PoR has done nothing to fix it. I petitioned/bugged and will continue to do so til they get off their lazy asses and refund our AA's or fix it. Ive read the lame excuse they put out and its just that, LAME. I should have just bought more tradeskill aa's. Oh well. Enough venting from me.

I logged into test tonight and got bright yellow text...

"You have been refunded 5 AA points of the alternate ability Abundant Healing."

So... at least if they can't fix it they finally refunded it. This is on Test but I'm guessing it would go live next patch. I'm just thrilled they did something. :)

Well, I got several GoM procs last night on a Fennin raid when casting Chlorotrope. I have never seen this before. Maybe they did fix something???

FYI, I have GoM5 and AH2.

Please jesus tell me this is fixed or there is a refund going to Live servers tomorrow. Either works~

Yes AH has been removed on Test and the AA points spent refunded. This is going out in the update tomorrow morning to Live servers as well.

From the patch message today - they have refunded all AH AA's and removed it for now :) Congrats to all of those who have wanted/needed this!

GoM is maximum 3, AH is maximum 5 ;)

Anyway, the bug is (was), that if you have both GoM and AH, whichever with the highest rank (since it's considered a focus, apparently from the same line) will fire (if anything fires). So because your GoM was higher than your AH you still get GoM on your heals, but would then not get any AH. At least that's how I understand the dev reply in the post mentioned at the beginning (post 5 or something) of this thread.
