The title was easy - finding the words to back it all up seems to be quite troubling :)

Its been 7 years - a lil more for beta sake (or mebbe I'm off a year - who knows). Good years. Everquest sucked me in from the start and has provided me with unchallengable entertainment for 35.1 years... hmm /played sure doesn't work like it used to. At any rate - its been a magnificently fun and unforgettable ride. Hell - who could forget it after 7 years of playing.

I'd explain why I'm done - but you already know. 7 years. Its not the developer's fault - its not the communitie's fault. I tried my best to stay hungry - quit a top notch guild (screw you RF for beating MM before my boys) joined a less active guild. I guess it doesn't work like that - when you're done - you're done. 7 years. I've had my fill :)

Its not bad to love EQ and dedicate yourself to it. Everyone has a vice. Some people drink too much, some people enjoy drugs, some people love gambling, some people love hookers and some people love EQ.

Everyone has some kind of vice - even if its not listed... but pick the least detrimental vice you see in that list. You could be doing A LOT worse. If you have 3 or more of those vices in your personal itinerary... its a new year - clean your ass up.

Never shy away or be ashamed of what you love to do. (well... that was sure as hell an offbeat comment - but its gonna hit home with a few ;) )

Without further ado... the SHOUT OUTS!

Myndpyre - there is no chance in hell he'll ever read this - but its worthy of a shout. I played with Myndpyre in Beta and followed him into game active. We started on Mithaniel Marr server. When SOMEone *cackle* talked VERANT into creating PvP team servers we immediately moved to Tallon Zek. Those were good times.

Aeeleb - also a guy who has no chance of seeing this (but you should know about these guys - they made EQ better). He was the best druid to ever play EQ period. A master. Pisses me off he comes from the video game generation just under mine. 6 months on Tallon Zek with over 1000 PvP kills and no deaths. He was my teacher and mentor as a druid.

Beowulfq - he'll only see this cause I tell him to read it :)
My German friend who saw something more in Teia. I was an officer in his guild while we stuck together. Being an officer was interesting - I'd log on and people would be like "WOOT" teia is on - that means we are raiding. In the meantime Teia is thinking... "WTF I SOOOO don't wanna lead stuff 2nite or ever". I did though and we conquered some fun stuff. Was all merit loot in that guild. Beowulfq never took anything - I had to beg to get him to take some no drop neck from Tunare. First class guy. BTW - Merit loot is crap.

Kaidman - some guy in some X-men movie told somebody else... "You are a God among insects". You know what that means? I could say you are a god among men - thats a good compliment - but imagine you are an insect - wouldn't the god be much bigger? and in the analogy - wouldn't men be much smaller? Thats pretty much how I think of Kaidman. He runs a top notch guild - leads its raids - spends all sorts of time listening to people bish about other people. Its the full gamut - Kaidman does everything. In 7 years - I have seen a lot in EQ. I've never seen anything like Kaidman. (He definitely WILL read this so... <3 you bro)

Lezek - Assent druid. I dunno if he reads here or not. Beowulfq's IRL brother. This guy has stuck by me through thick and thin and taught me to be a raid druid. We go back almost as far as my experience in EQ. You wanna talk to a trustworthy guy? Lezek is about as good as it comes. He'll hold your secrets in a locked safe. Throughout the 7 years... my EQ best friend. If you wanna be his next best friend... I'm not - but I definitely recommend you being female. Lezek likes his women. He has some thin German rockstar thing about him too - women love him.

Arrex - we never really talked much - but your dedication and professional play inspired me to log on more and play better.

Yeraie - I think Yeraie is the smartest most well-rounded player I've ever met in EQ. We'd get in a deep conversation and I'd spurt out stuff I was not sure of as if it were a fact - she'd call me on it. I've never met a girl like that. She's so well versed in pretty much everything. I'm going to keep my account open in hopes of more late night after raid talks with her. Yeraie is simply amazing.

Penelore and Medeous - /rawr

The rest of the Assent druid team minus Kulas - Sorry Kulas, I dunno you. Lupa and Nimchip (as well as Lezek and Kaidman and the retired Calielie) you all made it fun to log on. I'd say something offbeat in druid channel and we'd talk about it all night, on occasion - Calielie would get sick of hearing me talk and say " Shaddup Lippy". There was NEVER a night where I'd be bored in Druid chat. We all took care of eachother. I've missed that and I'll always miss that.

serverwide.druidsgrove:password participants: Mad <3. There are so many great personalities that show up there. Newb will join and ask a question - person X will call them a newb and shut their ass down - Person Y with more experience and knowledge than Person X will shut down Person X and make sure newb is happy. Its a fun environment with fun People.

EQ Devs - you've made it fun for me for 7 years. Don't get lazy - keep it up - you know how to make EQ better. Keep doing it.

If I dint mention you don't worry - all it means is that I don't think enough about you to mention you as part of my EQ experience. I'm sure you mean more to other people. *cackle*

So I guess thats it. Stay true - drink Coke - vote for Democrats - enjoy your lives - they are good ones.

Take care Teia, you will be missed. I havent been around a whole lot lately because of work, but it was nice talking to you when i was able in channel and in tells. I dont talk nearly as much as some in channel, i prefer the feel of tells rather than public channel and when/if i had questions you were usually one of the first to help with them. Feel free to drop me a line sometime when you pop online to chat or something i'm pretty easy to find unless work has me gone in some distant city yet again.

Don't know about the Dimmycrat thing, though. I think I may vote green :)

Sad to see you go. Didn't see you there much because I'm on euro time, but still.
Take care.

I'm glad the serverwide channel was named. It's the best / most knowledgable channel there is.

Always sad to see another druid go from the game even if I didn't know them. In the future sometime you will answer the gaming call again, remember to keep the druid faith when you play another game one day. It may not have the same skills/spells as EQ, but I can bet you it will be just as misunderstood.

Good luck

Take care, Teia. I hope our paths will still cross someday, perhaps in Telon :)

We HAVE had some interesting conversations, not all of which were about Everquest! My friend Teia carries a treasure-trove of unique wisdom around in that head of his, and I've reaped the benefits of that.

Teia has a heart of gold, and exudes this freakily contagious enthusiasm (you've all seen it here, and in serverwide). Aside from being an experienced and knowledgeable druid/person, Teia is flat-out fun to be around.

I'm going to miss you, dear. Holding you to that acct open thing.

Love,
~yer
