The Democrats who were trying to filibuster will most likely be your top Democratic nominees for 2008: Kerry (still a whiner); Hillary Clinton of New York; Evan Bayh of Indiana; Russ Feingold of Wisconsin; and Joe Biden of Delaware.

Biden's plagiarism thing will keep him out of the WhiteHouse for life.

Lets hear it for the rise of conservatism. Get out your coat hangers, gals. Watch what you say on the phone. Beware accidently hitting **** sites on the internet. Prepare to have the RIAA and MPAA legally tracking exactly what you do online. Kiss the concept of illegal search and seizure good bye.

Oh, and better brush up on your prayers to Christ, your children will be saying them in school right after they learn that evolution is a sin.

Biden's plagiarism thing will keep him out of the WhiteHouse for life.

If coke head drunk drivers can make it to the white house, start a war based on lies and explode our national debt and get re-elected, anyone can be president.

Its a moot point, however, in a year the President will use his wartime powers to suspend the 20th amendment.

I hereby announce my right to say "I told you so" when conservatism destroys America as we know it (or least destroys it for non-Christians and those who aren't wealthy).

edit: well I would, except at that point I'll probably be too busy fleeing America ahead of the Christian Jihad.

heh, it was almost all party lines.

we should officially recongize that the surpreme court isnt a pinnacle of impartiality, that justices are apolitical, and make it an electable posistion with term limits.

its pretty obvious that both sides just try to get people in who will further there political goals, which is exactly what the court is supposed to NOT be.

I was about to suggest that an impartial legal organisation should put a few names forward to the president, from which the president can select his supreme court nomineee. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if an impartial legal orgnatisation exists at national level. Law and politics seems mixed up all ways round nowadays.

In some regards I think it does work. You sometimes get maverick appointees who show they're clearly not going to toe the party line, like Justice O'Connor. Once they get seated they're at liberty, for the first time in their careers, to really do what they think is right without having it impacting their career down the line.
