Hey, I'm that druid! Fighting the Necro tonight, not that it matters, either of the bards is a lock to win.

Sounds like fun!

I've been doing a lot more dueling lately. After 400aa's..... XP grinds have little draw for me anymore. Anyway, it is very hard to find some one to actually duel as most simply flee the arena. =/ I hate chickens who run into the arena nuke you once and run out.

So far the only class to give me any trouble was a cleric. =P. Oddly it becomes a stale mate of healing vs mana. After a bit over an hour and no real progress of killing eachother we called it a draw.

Everybody I've been duelling for real is PoTime equipted. I try not to count the zerg force of level 65 warriors, paladins, monks and rogues that have bombarded the arena to try and kill me, only to die in a minute or 2 =P.

Watch the fight for about ... 5mins. Watch TV for about 5 hours. Come back and see the same two bards doing the same thing since the first 5 mins.

Druid vs Necromancer is going to be interesting. Necromancers have a slew of lure DoTs and they will never have mana issues. Or ... Health issues for that matter. Druids only have one spell line that has any hope of landing on the necro (swarm) which can be dispelled easily.

My advice ... Grab a couple of targettable insta-buff items. Standard Arena PvP proceedure is to keep the first two slots open so DoTs and debuffs can be dispelled without killing the good stuff.

Insta-buffing your opponent before starting the fight will fill those slots in nicely so your DoTs can go at the bottom of his buff list. He'll have to dispell his buffs before he can get to your DoTs.

Of course, any necro work his salt will know how to live with his hitpoints slowly drainning away.

Nothing a cure and heal wont stop though.

Um, one thing I didn't mention are the the rules of the tournament

1) Fight is held in Lake Rathe Arena, in the center square. Any contestent leaving the square is disqualified.

2) No knockback weapons are allowed (to prevent intentional pushing of opponents out of the square)

3) Shadowstep is allowed, but be warned, if you shadowstep out of the square, you are disqualified so use at own risk.

4) Bard and Enchanter's Ancient Mezz song/spells are not allowed since they are unresistable. The idea is that any undefendable spells or abilities are not usable for this tournament.

5) No usage of any aa ability with a refresh time of 15 minutes or more. This means no HT, LoH, SotW, Paragon, Lifeburn, Manaburn, etc.. Same reason as rule #4.

6) No potions allowed

7) There is a one minute buff phase right before the start of the fight, any self-buffs are allowed. Clicky buffs are allowed.

8 ) Except for epics, no other clicky items are allowed during the fight.

9) If both opponents are still standing after 10 minutes, judges (guild leaders from various guilds) will decide on a winner.

Sogaard, did I miss out anything?

So yeah you can clicky buff yourself just before the fight, but you are not allowed to use your items again during the fight itself.

I really enjoyed myself in the tournament, especially fighting that Elemental Monk.. Took me a week to think up a strategy that just *barely* survive his attacks. *shudder*
