After all these expansions, including Kunark and Vellious.......which expansion would you say was the best as far as content, new zones, quests, items, excitment, originality, graphics, and just an enjoyable expansion. I think Kunark gets forgotten easy, but those teleportal pots made a big difference years ago. PoP also was great with the porting stones., out of all the expasnions, which was best. (Not measuring at today's standards of course)

-edit, forgot the add the "why" part-

I like velious the most because it had a lot going on. The 3 factions one could choose, the feel/style of the zones, and that faction actually meant something.

What was your favorite expansion and why??

Well, Kunark already existed when I started playing, but I would have to imagine that for those cooped up on the original three continents, with only two zones left to do anything interesting in, it would have to be right up there.

Personally, Luclin was my favorite. Simply because I was a good level for it when it came out (55) and was in a guild that was raiding and experiencing plenty of the content. Been pretty much casual and solo since then, so most of the expansions since then I've been way behind the curve.

I too think Luclin is my favorite expansion. Ssra Temple, when not stuck farming key parts was fun to raid, Sanctus Seru, Umbral Plains, VT, Griegs End, Scarlet Desert, Maidens eye, etc lots of intresting zones to raid and group in. Really the last big expansion avaible to everyone, unlike PoP and GoD that followed where only raiders got to see the majority of initially.

I remember Velious most fondly, most for Kael. However, seeing Wyndfoot's post, really makes me agree that Luclin had some great zones and raid targets. Lord Seru was always fun and I enjoyed VT. Initial expansion pains aside (and awful model animations) it was full of interesting things to do at all levels.

Isn't there a thread about this in the poll section?

PoP, the most polished and longevous expansion to date. I see the cream of the crop still grinding in PoFire and many mid-level guilds still find PoTime to be a major accomplishment/farm zone.

Yeah PoP was the best.

Why? Great lore, some hella clever raid events, and several very well-designed XP zones that complemented the progression from 60-65 quite well.

Of course, it wasn't perfect. The ending doesn't make sense, for example, and a couple of the fights are just plain bad - for example, the ring events in air and PoEa would put me to sleep.

But to this day TRC and Xegony remain my favorite raid encounters, which isn't to say that I'd want to do them again, but that they were my guild's finest hour, so to speak. They're the kind of fight your guild is only going to do once or twice, but it's the kind of event where your guild has to absolutely shine. Vish and Jelvan were kinda like that the first couple times, but not really. Sendaii, however, gets pretty close.
