so i was playing flluf yesterday with dorkes,grimmson,shamo
and i finally ding'd 40

everyone had to go so i decided to go get my new dot. i see on alla that it is avl in wakening land.

I loaded up my port to wakening land and cast it.

get loading screen and first thing i see is a red target in my window.

it says "Fabled Wuoshi" I didnt even have time to think

Fabled should be gone by around the 15th of April. Roughly.

Its important to note, that at level 40, seeing as how your faction with that Dragon was bad anyway, the regular verison would have in all probability aggroed and killed you also.

The Portals to Wakening Lands and Cobalt Scar are very close to Claws of Veeshan Faction Mobs.

Even with max ally faction, if you port someone in who is KoS you will be just as dead from Wuoshi's AoE spell.

I do not recall the normal verison's AE being anything more then a stun. It hsa however, been a very long time.

If you are feared and are killed, it does that. Ragefire 2.0 does the same thing.

It has always been somewhat unsafe to port to Wakening Lands without knowing ahead of time whether Wuoshi is up.

For the future, if you need to get to Wakening Lands, a safer option might be to run through Kael. Bring several instant cast invis potions with you, and be ready to click them if your invis is about to drop. (Until you get a fixed duration invis--Improved Superior Camouflage at level 48--it's probably a good idea to carry a few around if you can.)

If you think you've made a wrong turn in Kael, /con nearby giants. If any see invis, you went the wrong way.

It's a longer run, but that's what we used to do in the old days. :)

Or, if you are porting with others, here's the trick we used to use:

Invis only drops when you START to cast a spell. So have someone in your group time an invis to land on you right after you start casting the port spell. They will then have plenty of time to invis themselves. Ouila'!! You now all port in invis :)

Barring, of course, any invis that drops early :(

I believe that Wuoshi sees invisible. So that doesn't help.

Just run through Kael. Nothing will see invis and it's not that long a run. Always exciting at the lower levels though if you find invis dropping. I made many a train to zone.

Once in WL you will be fine. Wuoshi only hangs around the portal so going to the PoG entrance will be safe.

This story reminds me of the time fableds first came around. I was in S Ro desert trying to get Ancient Cyclops to pop and i triggered the Terrorantula, but he was fabled. I was barely 50 at the time and he clobbered me FAST. I was like WTF. i died insanely fast, especially for that zone and i only knew it was the spider cuz i read the messages. I never even saw the critter. Needless to say it was awhile later until i finally got my ring of the ancients.
