Hey,

I quit around the PoP era, and I was wondering if druids can still quad kite (snare + rain/aoe). If not, do they have an alternative that is just as good experience? Also if not, can Wizards still do it?

Thanks,

Xz

Depends on mana pools and lvl's. In Plane of Fire can quad but regular ensnare is used. And AE ice rain instead of the magic line which gets resisted alot.

Root rot is popular now.

I was thinking more old school stuff, like Otters in CS(I think it was) and Aviaks in OOT(I think it was). Also I remember doing it in PoNightmare(with Terris) as well.

I just heard something that some part of Druid Kiting was nerfed so I just wanted to know what part that was, if I even heard right.

As far as I know, anything you used to be able to quad you still can.

There's just not much new stuff to quad, as generally mobs PoP+ have too many HPs and resist. PoF and Halls of Honor are the only places I've heard of Druids Quadding since PoP.

Thanks a ton!

So then post pop, what are the preferred methods of solo exp? Someone said root rotting... is that just root + dot + rinse and repeat? Are there any more exciting methods than that?

Also, I guess wizards are plagued by the same setbacks as druids in terms of snare quadding? Or does their extra DPS make up for the extra hp?

I usually pull with mire thorns or ensnare then root, and dot with 3 to 4 of my best dots, rinse and repeat. Druid critical affliction AAs and other dot spell focus effects make things even more efficient. When root rotting one mob gets dull (ie, root is sticking well with no/few breaks) I pull another and get it started on the same regime. Depending on where you are soloing it can be a challenge to get a couple or even three mobs rotting in sequence.

This also expands where you can potentially solo as quading requires space, preferably lots of flat space. If you pick your spots and time your roots well you can have a number of mobs dieing in a relatively tight spot.

Hmm sounds interesting.

I'm really looking for extremely efficient leveling options for creating a character from level 1. I'm planning on rolling on the new progression server, and I want to try to stay ahead of the game by quadding or soloing for better exp.

I'm still trying to figure out a levelling guide for the old world (spots/mobs that won't be too camped, and at which levels), but it's hard because most guides out now involve all of the expansions.

Guess I'll have to do a little data mining on crgaming or allakhazam to figure out my options. Does anyone have suggestions?

Thanks,

Xz

Root dotting is plenty exciting, when root often breaks early on mobs, and they can hit for 1500+, especially when you're working in cramped quarters :)

If you're looking to make it REALLY exciting, root dot a summoner :)

With the Mob warping too, any kind of kiting is...exciting.
