Budweiser beer is not going over well at the World Cup. Anheuser-Busch paid $40 million for the rights to sell Budweiser at soccer stadiums. Thousands of Dutch fans had to watch one game in their underwear. Officials made them take off their shorts which displayed the logo of a Dutch beer.

Germans consider Budweiser, 'dishwater'. From my intentionally limited exposure to Bud, I agree wholeheartedly :) .

If Anheuser-Busch hadn't agreed to let Bitburger be sold at the stadiums, I think there would have been riots. Bitburger isn't that great either, but it's a lot better than Bud.

Budweiser advertising in the UK is a self-parody, portraying themselves as brash dumbnut yanks who know nothing about soccer but provide great beer. Think on that for a while.
