hey all,

thanks for all the great advice and info regarding my first question!

Understand i am a puter dummy so be gentle but i am setting up 2 maybe 3 puters to play EQ for me , wife and son. Am getting DSL installed shortly and will be using a wired router. While shopping for routers found most say 10/100 for about 50 to 60 bucks. One other said it was a gaming router with no more game lag that listed a speed of 10 100 1000.
Question is with 3 people on EQ at the same time does a 120 dollar router make more sense?

yeah I know silly question but remember im a puter dummy

thanks !!!!

Your connection will generally be limited by the DSL modem, not the router used to split the connection. Unless you plan to exchange large files between your computers, I wouldn't bother with gigabit ethernet (the "1000"). Note that the network cards for your computers would have to support gigabit ethernet too for it to do any good in the first place.
