Probably because they are managing a brand new way on the resist check so that the lure line on this spell wouldn't have any use then.

Maybe i'm wrong, but that could be that.

For the example :
Actually, you can debuff a Red Wurm in ToV with RFS and still can't manage to get RSD to stick on it, including Fire DD i should suppose.

I noticed the removal of Lure on RFS but if you notice it also says focus item: Fire beetle eye. Perhaps if you have an eye it has the same/similar resist style.

They've been playing with the Lure tag on wizzie spells too. I wouldn't worry too much over the specifics of what you see on Test.

I wouldn't panic just yet on this guys -

They did say that they were playing with the Resist Machine, lets hold off on assumptions right now.

Are there any Druids that do not have a fire beetle eye?

I probably should get a new one, I've been carrying around the same eye since level 1. I bet it doesn't look to good by now.

It's probably the only item I still have from that level. How nostalgic.

ROFL! Yep, I have had the same fire beetle eye in my bag since 1999.

Me, too, same one since 9-1-00 =)

And actually, I met a druid, at a raid of all places, about 3 months back, who said she didn't have a fire beetle eye on her.

I was literally speechless! How the heck do you get to mid 50s and not carry a fire beetle eye?

/shrug

Hahahaha I consider my fire beetle like a symbol, a badge of honor if you will. In the back of my mind I was never sure when I no longer needed it and now it just has sentimental value.

should add something to it ...

say .. you cast identify on your fire beetle eye .. and it says property of XxX since <insert date>

ehh

on hindsight I don't have the same bettle eye from level 1 .. I gave that original one away to a fellow druid (who was 50+) on a raid when he was slotted to do Ros and said he didn't have one :P

I am really not sure what spells even require a Fire Beetle Eye any more, I always have one. I am pretty sure I have the same one since level 1, but it might be 3 or 5 or whenever you actually stop killing fire beetles, since it is possible it got lost in the Massive fire beetle eye collection I mainted throughout the early levels.

I really wish they would remove the fire beetle eye thing. I never understood the point of it. Spell components should go away imo.

I have a 60 chanter friend and we decided to switch characters for a day just to live the other experience and he couldn't for the life of him figure out why I was carrying a fire beetle eye around. I managed to stop him from destroying it just in the nick of time. Whew! I've had that thing since June 1999.

RFS is not Lure. It can be resisted.
It is quasi-Lure.

Fire beetle eye? Oh, that blob in my 'essentials' backpack with the nerve thingymajigs behind it. /shiver
I'm surprised it hasn't decomposed yet. I've had it since Araxx was level 9 :)

Ciao for now!

Actually, RFS is a lure. In fact, it's a better lure than most wizard lures. Wizard lures are one resist lower than dragon's breath (usually considered one of the hardest spells to resist), RFS is the same class lure as dragon's breath. However, it is possible to resist wizard lures and dragon's breath - that's why it's possible to resist RFS. Plus, if the mob is 100% fire immune, they can resist RFS as well.

I noticed that RFS's resist modifier is -200, while proper Wizard Lure's are -300. So RFS will still be hard to resist, but only 2/3 as hard as a Wizard Lure.

I just hope that Winged Death's low resist properties aren't disturbed by these changes.
