In October a 53-year-old German, obeying his satnav's command "Turn right now!" jerked the wheel over and crashed into a roadside toilet hut 30 metres (yards) before the crossing he was meant to take, causing 2,000 euros ($2,600) damage.

heehhe.

I once had a talking radar detector in my Toyota.

When it detected radar it would say in a sexy female voice, "Slow down".
Then repeat itself, if the radar was still present.

If the radar signal increased substantially, it would say it faster and faster.

Well, I knew what it meant. But I let a friend drive home one day after skiing at Kirkwood. He didn't. I'm like half falling asleep in the passenger seat. And the radar goes off, at a usual spot, it is a microwave oven at a roadside cafe, always set it off like clock work.

My friend Mike, damn near came to a complete stop on 88 because the detector was yelling at him to slow down. Woke me up. And gave me a big laugh.

I went to a Honda dealership with a friend of mine when the talking GPS devices were first starting to appear in cars. We asked the guy what would happen if you didn't follow the car's directions, and the salesman said that it would assume you missed your turn or hit a detour and simply reroute you to get you back on track. We thought that was kinda boring and asked if we could get one with an attitude... "Ignoring my directions, eh? Oh, you think you know where you're going now do you, dumba**? Fine, lets see if you can get home from Beloit, Kansas, bish!"
