I noticed in the patch message dots are supposed to be more efficient....will be curious about that. Can anyone post if they are in game today please?

And Skin to vines and icefall effect them (who has ice dots?) but fire will be nice......is it Enchanters that get effect to magic for our swarm dots? (don't use them much now I have nice fire focus)

We got lil borked from bards song being changed (liked my 2k crit per tick)

While I feel the frustration of a lot of druids here and can only hope we get some revamps.

It's almost as if he whined and dined us in beta and bamm dropped us like hot potatoe night before prom! (and picked up damn pally as g/f!)

<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>*** Highlights ***</NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>Welcome to EverQuest: The Buried Sea, the 13th expansion for EverQuest!</NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>Throngs of undead trample the earth both night and day as Norrath's sun withers. With each passing hour, the growing numbers of creatures of the night rising from crypt and grave seem part of a grand design to overwhelm the lands.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>Trouble also lurks deep beneath the Buried Sea off the coast of Odus in a city named Katta Castrum which has remained undiscovered for hundreds of years. It is a city built to sustain the beloved leader of the Combine Empire named Tsaph Katta who was poisoned by General Seru. Generations of Combine Loyalists have tried to cure and awaken Katta while they house threatened populations of Kedge, Shissar, and Sphinx. But in recent times, the artifact that powers and protects their city has weakened. Without it, the city will be crushed under the pressure of the sea.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>Only the most intrepid Norrathians have the power to save them.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Ship-to-Ship Combat: Cross the plank and fight for your life on the open seas as you raid pirate vessels!</NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Two Paths of Advancement: Battle pirates on the open seas or dive deep beneath the sea to Katta Castrum, lost stronghold of the Combine Empire.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- New Missions: Take your group through more than 60 challenging new missions ranging from defending merchant vessels against marauding pirates to uncovering the secrets behind the combine city and the danger that threatens it!</NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Guild Banners: Guilds can create a unique Guild Banner from a large selection of symbols and colors. The banner becomes the mark of the guild and when enough guild members are in the same zone (two groups), the guild leaders or officers can plant the banner in the ground. While a guild banner is planted, members can use the Guild Hall portal to teleport directly to the banner. This allows players to easily catch up with guild mates. The guild banner can also be upgraded to provide different effects, like regeneration. Upgraded Guild Banners are expendable, but provide an effect to everyone in the guild who is in range of the banner while it is planted. Guilds can only have one standard up at a time. You can access Guild Banner information through a tab in the Guild Window and banners will be sold in the Plane of Knowledge.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Fellowships: A Fellowship is like a mini-guild for those who play together regularly. Fellowships have a maximum of six players and exist in addition to guilds. All members of the Fellowship get a token, access to a Fellowship-only channel, and the ability to create campfires when at least three "fellows" are in the same area. Fellows use their tokens to transport directly to the campfire allowing them to catch up with their regular playmates quickly. Campfires can be upgraded to provide effects to nearby Fellows. These upgrades are expendable and need to be repurchased. A Fellowship can only have one campfire active at a time. Randall of the Fellows in the Plane of Knowledge will register Fellowships. Fellowship items are also available for sale in the Plane of Knowledge.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Energeian Power Source Items: Tapping into the Combine Empire's technology, players gain access to a new inventory slot for an Energeian power source. Particular pieces of Energeiac armor will tap into Energeian power sources, gaining benefits from the type that is equipped. For example, an Energeiac sword gains a chance to cast a fire damage spell if a fire Energeian source is equipped or a frost spell if a cold one is. Energeian power sources are expendable and will deplete as they are used, but can be changed on the fly to let players customize effects simply by changing the Energeian source. Energeian items will be for sale from vendors, found on monsters, and some can be tradeskilled.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Toxxulia Forest: An updated Toxxulia Forest is now available that includes Kerra Ridge and access to The Buried Sea expansion zones.</NORMAL>

<NORMAL>*** In Game Mail System ***</NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>In order to improve the performance of the in game mail system, starting on February 20, 2007, we will be implementing a routine purge that will clear out all in game mail that is more than 4 months old. This will be an ongoing process. </NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>You can now use the Export feature. This new feature will grant players the ability to export their in-game mail to a text file in the EverQuest directory. To use the new Export feature, take the following steps: </NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Open up the e-mail window (ctrl-E). </NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Select the messages you would like to export by clicking them in the top pane, using shift-click and/or ctrl-click if you would like to select multiple messages. </NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Click "Export". </NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- The selected messages are then saved to a file in the EverQuest Mail directory with a name in the format:</NORMAL>
<NORMAL>SavedMessages_<charactername>_<servername>.txt. </NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- This export will need to be done with each character that has mail you wish to save. </NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>*** Items ***</NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Sharpshooting VII on Vae'Aender, Stitch's Bow now functions correctly.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Geerlock Clockwork Contraption can no longer be used by frogloks.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>*** Quests </NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Taskmistress Krisz can now be called out with 6 or more players instead of 18 or more.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>*** Spells ***</NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Mana Flare and similar effects will no longer fire on "procs".</NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- The duration on Mana Flare has been doubled.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Mana Flare strikes now generate little to no additional agro.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Performer's Psalm of Pyrotechnics and Weshlu's Chillsong Aria will no longer work on damage over time spells.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Damage over time spells from Serpent's Spine have been retuned. Efficiency and damage have been increased across the board.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Several level-capped spells from Serpent's Spine have had their maximum level increased to 78: Echo of Misdirection, Spinning into the Void, Color Collapse, Dreams of Veldyn, and Wake of Subdual.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Debuffs that increase the damage the target takes from certain elements, (Icefall Breath, Skin to Vines, Scent of Twilight, and Malosinise) now work on Damage over Time spells as well as Direct Damage spells.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Skin to Vines can be applied to a wider variety of NPCs.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Icefall Breath now has an AC reduction component, as the spell's description indicated.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- The efficiency on Sting of the Queen has been reduced.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Epic 1.5 and 2.0 effects now work up to level 75.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Aspect of Elemental Agony for Mages has been swapped with a new spell: Mass Elemental Transvergence.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Blazing Stance no longer works on non-Wizard pets.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Kindle is now a lower level version of Blazing Stance.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- The Raging Servant and Bestial Empathy pets summoned using a Spire Servant focus now have an appropriate amount of hit points.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Several Shadowknight hate-generation spells had their cast time lowered from 1.5 to 1.0 seconds.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- Echo of Misdirection has changed. It can no longer be used while the Monk is in combat. The effect is now a targeted AE. Its range has been increased, its level cap was increased, and the ability will not agro the target if it successfully lands.</NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>*** NPC ***</NORMAL>
<NORMAL></NORMAL>
<NORMAL>- The skeletons in Dreadspire can no longer see through invisibility to undead.</NORMAL>

<NORMAL>- The Ctrl-R-Click option has moved from the tradeskill window to the options window.</NORMAL>

LOL thanks for reposting the patch .....duh I saw that it is why I am asking if anyone can tell us what the changes ARE. Not posting that they made them.

Shamans have their old and new up so was hoping if anyone has been in game yet they could post what the difference is.

Shm/Mage Malosinise has the magic dmg mod

Best I can tell atm in regards to the dots...

Sunscorch
Dmg: 501/521/541 ... to -> 509/529/550
Mana: 541/563/584 ...to -> 507/527/548

Swarm of Fireants
Dmg: 364/379/393 ... to -> 370/384/399
Mana: 561/584/605 ... to -> 526/546/567

Blistering Sunray (nerf)
Dmg: 261/271/279.. to -> 238/247/257
Mana: 465/482/499 ... to -> 434/450/468

So...
base dpm went up 8.4~%, dmg about 1.5% on Sunscorch and Fireants
Effecicency on blistering got dropped about 2%, dmg about 9%

haha yeah, but I didn't see it posted anywhere so had no idea what you were talking about so thought I'd post it for others.

Blame law and order for the actual number changes not being included with that =p

Bad news is that the Shamen have their Sting of the Queen reduced in efficiency.
That means we can give up hope of receiving, eventually, a similar spell that if done to the usual damage ratio would have done a good job in closing the DPS gap that opened lately between Druids and the other casters traditional ratios.

Great....NOT!

The one DoT I use the most, because it has a fire resist debuff, is nerfed. I like to use the Blistering Sunray and then fire DD. I like to think the extra lowered fire resist helps.

As for the rest of TBS, druids get crap.

I'm resigned to the fact that SOE hates druids. I'm just glad I still like playing my druid. I just have to deal with the fact that we are gimp. I can still do stuff but every expansion and patch just shows more and more that druids will continue to pay and pay for once long ago being massively powerful.

I hope the information about Blistering Sunray is wrong, because it if is true the patch information is simply a lie. Damage is stated as increasing "across the board", not "in most cases"...

TBS isnt a true expansion - its one of those small content add-ons. Yes the price is the same as other expansions, but it has always been that way.... its much like Legecy of Yeksha. God isnt there anything we as druids dont complain 24/7 about? Its mind boggeling how much we just cry about EVERYTHING. I want this, I want that, gimme gimme gimme, wah wah wah...

If you dont like it, Sony isnt forcing you to buy the expansion.

I've started to notice something. On the Sony boards people are starting to say that druids need help.

This is quite strange since in the past there was violent protest at anything that improved druids. Druids were the number one hated class and most people would state how they are all a bunch of whiners who should shut up.

Now people are saying that druids could use some fixing. When even the druid haters are saying we need help, things are bad.

I'm ordinarily pretty happy, but I find it incredibly annoying that there is a patch message stating that dots have increased damage and efficiency..

and in game the damage is decreased and so is the efficiency. Doesn't that strike you as bizarre? They could have just said "retuned", after all. It's not as if 24/tick is a game-breaker. It's just another pointless jab.

Ditto for the drastically downgraded group heal; is there is reason to use a new spell that's actually *less effective* with 70 focii than an old spell? Why bother to add it? I like Moonfire, but for heavens sake that's just silly.

Wind, I suppose part of the reason that people are complaining is at least partially because of how druids got surprise nerfs.

The last minute change to LL certainly was not a well planned out move, changing it as it went live would OF COURSE bring some heat.

And the complete flat out lie about Blistering has to raise some heat as well. They told us it was an across the board improvement, seems like you might have a hard time seeing in what way Blistering was improved.

And of course that comes on top of them bringing back in the dead spell line of DD vs summoned. We get a handful of spells and one of them is this loser? Its so situational that its going to get a back of spellbook slot.

Not that i dont agree with you that druids often are too willing to whine, but dont ignore the things that truly are wrong with this picture.

Our healing is once again getting based on a tank class healing ability, not a priest class.

Our DPS is once again taking a hit when they are telling us that its being improved.

These two facts (not opinions, they are indeed facts) are something that need to be addressed.

Look, when you have a wide range of abilities, like druids do, and every one of them gets crapped on (meaning not on par with advancement of mobs and other classes), then you will see a long list of complaints. It isn't that druids want everything. It's that they have a long list of abilities that aren't as effective as they have been. There is alot to be upset about with recent expansions. You wouldn't have seen any complaints if LL was left alone, but it wasn't. So everything is going to get complained about. Can druids still solo? Yes. Can druids still heal a group? Yes. Is it the same as 2 years ago? Not even close. But no matter, we can still solo. That makes everything ok. Right? Now people are whining about the whiners. Becoming the very thing they hold so much disdain for. Don't worry though, there is plenty of room down here with the rest of us cry-babies.

As for s2v, it does seem to help with the fire dots a little. Maybe enough to offset the loss of dps from sunray, depending on which rank you have. You have to keep it memmed or switch it out for a dot after you cast it. Soloing, I use sunscorch, fireants rk.II, sunray, wasp, and Orb of Clinging Death(Swarming Death). I haven't noticed much difference, but it seems I am left with a couple hundred more mana than before, when killing the same number of mobs at the same camps. It may not seem like much, but to keep from whining I will point out the silver lining. (/em puts on the happy face)That couple hundred mana is about 6 seconds less you have to med. That could add up to a whole AA.......in about a year.

SEE?!?! No whining. I really am trying to see the bright side of things.:shuffle:

when you equip this http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=53719

using fire dots over magic (since I don't have new magic focus or ba6 on tribute) and even using vengance of sun is way worth it......I can get 1200tick on vengance no problem sometimes higher.

You are implying that with your focus item, you are seeing 1200 damage per tick with VoS more often than not. Is that what you mean?

serinity_inny
02-15-2007, 03:04 PM
I am implying I am seeing higher dot ticks (ie more dmg per tic) with S2V. Of course I have higher focus now so I only had it 3 days now so I can't give conrete numbers.....but like we mentioned in the other thread for MY group set up (actually usually have 3 toons outside group nuking now) it makes since for one of the 2 druids to be casting it.
