Hey everyone! I want to say why I love druids and I was hoping you would explain why you love your druid!
I am a nature nut! Part of the reason why I think a druid is cool
I really like this website, lots of friendly people!
Many of the people here care alot about thier character and are willing to voice thier opinion, even when no one understands!
My dad used to play about five years ago. He has this book that told of all the races and classes, though it didn't have alot of the new ones. I loved the description of the druid!
Why did you pick the druid? What do you like most about him/her? Is he/she very much like your own personality?

I didn't pick a druid. A druid picked me. ;) My boyfriend had a level 19 druid on his account, and I had just started playing EQ at his persistance (he wanted me to stop bitching over him playing EQ), so he was letting me play on his account. I played his cleric, SK, warrior, & druid. I loved the druid. I liked being able to sow myself and port.

But I created my own account and made a Pally forgetting about the druid for a while, but every now and then I'd come back to play Naeyene (the druid on his account). I leveled her to 35 or so before he started bitching over me using his account and not mine, and he suggested I create a druid on my account. Which I did, but I made him delete his so I could have that name. Re-leveled her (and now she's 72.)

I love playing my druid as a means of getting away. Having a class I can solo or group when I want to. I think she fits me almost as well as my paladin does, as I am very earthy and nature loving as well.

My story is very similiar to Naeyene's. I started playing when my husband at the time was playing EQ all the time and I was bitching about it. I started a druid on his account and was hooked immediately!! Eventually I got my own account and actually had 2 druids named Madine and Madie for a very long time. I remember when I got Madine to 25 - I thought it was the best I would ever be able to do.

Eight years later - Madie is nearly 75 now and Madine has morphed into a Ranger (re-rolled the name). I can only play on the weekends - which makes me a casual player, but I have enjoyed many days and nights playing my druid. I was part of the biggest roleplaying guild on Tunare for about 4 years (actually I am the lone survivor of that guild now) I love everything about being a druid. The versatility has been amazing - I can fit into nearly any group (except of course high end raids)

Druids are fun because of the multi-fuctionality they possess. And played right -there is no other joy! I hope you find the same to be true when you finally get yours up and running!!

It was the roleplaying aspect that appealed to me. I wanted to play some type of elvish race and I liked the idea of being a priest of nature. Kelethin captured my imagination being a city in the trees. When I roleplay Starlene, personality wise she is very close to myself, if a bit more idealistic. I also find it interesting to play a character with a strong religious devotion too as I'm not religious in real life.

What I enjoy most about the class is the versatility. I like being able to be a healer in most situation, but also being able to dish out some damage as well. I like the ease of getting around quickly with ports. It feels a bit weird for me to single out AA but Shared Camo is actually one of my favorite parts of being a druid. I love being able to cast Eagle, instantly invis my group with a simple click of a button, and port us to where we need to be. No more having to constantly sit mem invis and cast it over and over. I always found this to be a very tedious process and I love being free of it. We're very lucky to have this ability. I think only rangers get it too though some classes might get a self invis like it.

My first toons were a cleric and a paladin. But then I joined my guild, Tunare's Benevolence, and was promoted to officer. That was the time of boats, multiple hour corpse runs, and no books! I began playing my druid to get to up to porting level so that I could port guildies around, and get to various places to do guild interviews. I also found that kiting was best for a guild officer because I was always in tells, and if I was grouped it disrupted the group. By the time my druid got made guild leader I was a druid main and my cleric and paly were way behind.

But I love playing a druid - the versatility is great, and as time progresses I've found the class became one that you could really tailor make to your playing style. If I am off my game I am a total airhead player, but if I am paying attention and in the groove the things I can do are boggling! I think that the ability to really increase your power through skill, as opposed to the gear dependancys that some classes (like tanks) have to deal with is one of the druid's best traits.

Concerning groups, druids are a rather afk friendly class. Which is nice, because you don't have to worry too much if something comes up.

That is almost the exact same thing that happened with me. Except when we got a new account I made my hubby move his mage to it and I kept the old account..LOL. I just recently cancelled my account after yet another guild dissolved due to drama and lack of raiders.

Same story as Nae as well: an old boyfriend had a wizard on his account and I had a druid. I started working at a Wizards of the Coast ages ago for a summer job and I got my own account.

Honestly? I wanted to be a wolf. This was in 2000 though, and the COOLEST druids were in Skyshrine (? it was all green) armor, could stop the rain and were white or black wolves.

Started playing a druid back in kunark era... I picked em because my buddy that got me to start said we could make a lot of money TPing and that druids did good damage and healed well... boy was he wrong back then :P!

Those were the fun times when you had to heal with gheal till 53 I think it was.... boy karnor's was a good time doing that!

Ever since I made Gegen back then I've never looked back, druids are the kings.

Well posted a long one, but I think it got erased so here's a short version.

I love druids because of the simple fact that we can do everything, in my RL I am a labtech and we are considered the jack of all trades in the military.

I love chilling in wolf form at Kelethin and buff all the newbies running around. We'll there used to be alot. Being able to go anywhere you want, self invis, run with the spirit of the wolf or fly like the eagles.

I like being the reason why your group survives because of a well time'd port, or being able to switch to healer mode cuz your cleric dies. Though Evac can be a pain when you accidentally press it once in awhile well I actually pressed it alot on the first week I got it.:bonk:

I play for the fun of it, mostly for my friends been playing for about 5 yrs now and Thorns just have over 100 aa's at 70. Compared to my friends, Sereena, Hexxar, Surasin, Quintt, Pumaa and a bunch more I am a newbie.
Still wearing that green chainmail from umbral planes, recently just got my bakers spoon Wooohooo and with the help of Razmann and Quintt my leaf blower(epic).

Being a druid is like my RL job everybody else gets the credit :moon:, but they know deep down inside its with your help. What we do best is support the tanks(infantry) and medics(docs). What I would love to be sometimes though is to have seal form(WoW) to explore the oceans, and a more usefull wolf form so everyone wants to be one. I want to hear druids in PoK saying Wolf form extended duration MGB by the bank in 5 mins and see people run to the bank or haul ass from wherever to get buffed.

I also love D&D druids. Its because of the animal affinity.

Thats the above board context stuff

For game mechanics, I like a class that can solo and group well, and has utility.
