I would guess this is a "whoops, that's not supposed to be there" thing, followed by a patch to take it out and a refund.

Actually, it appears to be intentional!

It is intended.

Let me get this straight, a Snare AA that lasts 20mins, and with a 0.5sec cast time?

That is great.... unless i am buffing I have had spell slot 3 permanently populated with ensnare for about... well i dunno, like 4 years!

And to top that, I have 4 unspent AAs at the moment, was saving up for Call to corpse AA. I think i'm gonna be getting a new snare tonight!

It lasts 14mins and cast time is 2s, not 0.5s. Refresh is about 4-5secs.

refresh is .05 they have the exact description on eqlive forums and it says so in the aa window.

it is very fast recast.

I would get it if I were you but not sure if I would over Call of the Wild.....I had 70 aa's before I got that and finally broke down and got it and never regret it and use it plenty (my most used aa of course is grp invis then convergance of spirits and sotw)

The most significant aspect of the Entrap AA is that you can use it _between_ spells during the recast time. (The 2 sec cast time fits perfectly in the 2.25 sec cast time of another spell!)

So, now we can snare--assuming the mob isn't particularly resistant--without affecting our damage our healing. This is huge.

A nice start to begin fixing some druid problems.

I suggest Call of the Wild first if you don't have it.

This has made me a happy, happy druid. It gets resisted a lot, but when able to chain cast it as well as cast between spells I haven't had an issue getting it on a mob before it runs. Free spell gem ftw!

In scenarios where I need to have a snare memmed, more often than not I need the snare for pulling/splitting, and in those instances, its Serpent Vines all the way for the chromo resist check. In a group, mobs die fast enough even if they do run its only a few steps and splat dead anyway. The days of needing to snare for a group are fast fading. Snaring to prevent low life run when soloing, now thats a different matter.

I will likely continue to mem Serpent Vines for soloing, although Entrap has enabled me to delete the bandolier for Tanglewood Shield (much h8 to mem ensnare).

This was a very nice surprise. I will also most likely continue using Serpent Vines but I like the idea that I don't have to mem ensnare to get long lasting snare on mob. Hooray!

There are actually 2 levels to Entrap, with the second point costing 10aa. Before I go blowing 10aa on it, can someone tell me what additional benefits will the 2nd level of Entrap give me? Longer snare time? Lower chance of it being resisted? Combination of both?

Lower chance of resistance
