Well, its hard to grow up in a strict catholic home.
I have been raised to live life like the bible says I should.
And I think its the right way to live and that everybody
should live like that. But it aint easy. Because whenever
I visit this forum, this site popup: [like this]

I have no idea why, it all started when you upgraded the forum
and I clicked "yes" when the computer asked me if I wanted
to have the new features installed. Have you put some sort of
popup thing into the upgrade or what?

Please help me :( .

This is a gold community, you shouldn't be seeing any popups.

Perhaps you have accidentally got a spyware program installed on your computer or something?

If you get popups on random sites, you've probably been infected with spyware of some sort. I'd suggest installing and running the latest version of Adaware (http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/) and see what's installed on your machine. If you use Kazaa, Morpheus or other file sharing programs, you've probably got one or two programs on your system already. The Druid's Grove is completely pop-up free.

Did we? As a general rule never say Yes to any prompts you get. Try no or the X in the top right hand corner first and see if it works anyway.

What happens is if you install some apps or go to some web sites they install other apps onto your PC which then pop up random ads on your PC (happens alot on **** / gambling / warez sites or even spam emails) but they require you to say Yes or Accept to install (its a browser check) so when peopel click yes they are actually installing this software.

Its well worth checkign what you have installed on your add / remove components in control panel and see if theres anything in there you just have no idea why its there and remove it but be carefull if you dont understand what your doing.

There is no software to my knowledge from these boards which gets installed localy i think you have gotten it from somewhere else.

"Kazaa, Morpheus or other file sharing programs,"

Those are bad for your system.

Hell, I blamed a member here once for sending me to a pop up hell site. Twas that junk in the back ground that spawned a hundert new windows on me.

And I thought I was fast on the F4, nope. It was faster, had to shut power, even.

Ripped all that junk off my system, ran adaware got it all out. No real problems since.

Never, ever, hit yes to any install/download box unless you know exactly what it is and where it came from.

And yes, run Adaware and get rid of all the junk. You should be okay after that.

Had that happen once when I was using a program and it popped up an add, like usual. However, the add couldn't load fully, so it kept trying to open a new window to load it. I ended up with around 200 different error windows in 30 seconds, only solution I could do was restart.

The original post in this thread is a cut/pasted post that has been spammed around various EZBoards. Maybe a mod could add them to the abuse lists?

Yeah, they should have known its canned spam since:

"Well, its hard to grow up in a strict catholic home.

Is a contradiction ;)
