I went and did what I swore I'd never do, and started playing EQ again. Hard to pass up a $10 expansion pack with all previous expansions, and 30 days free play :)

Sorry to bump my own post, but I have a question for all of you:

What's your opinion of the supplemental pay sites for EQ? Such as Magelo, Allakhazam's, and EQPlayers. I only want to sign up for one, and I'm not sure which one would be the most worthwhile.

Well, I can tell you not to bother with EQPlayers. If I had to pick one, I'd say Allakhazam would be the most useful; a number of people swear by the "search for upgrades" ability to decide what gear to pursue. You can construct Magelo profiles manually without a paid subscription, if you want.

Yeah, I've already got the free profiles on Magelo. The main reason I need to sign up for something is that I can't find any free sites with filterable item searches. At least none with up-to-date databases.

Thanks for the tip about EQPlayers. I'll decide between Magelo and Alla's then.
