I'm curious to know if this is possible. If so , where, what , how? I dont mind the grind , just want to get a heads up from anyone who is doing this already and how / where, etc.

Thanks in advance.

The easy method is root dotting. There's a nice empty room to pull to on the north side above the arena, or you could pick almost any spot that doesn't have a yellow/red con nearby. (Be careful on the south side above the arena though, once in a while there's a wandering red con.)

More difficult would be charm soloing. I've seen it done but haven't bothered to try it myself yet. Should be quite effective, there are some decent CoT-able boars in the pen.

Most difficult would be aggro kiting with a charmed pet, only because of the difficulty of moving the boar upstairs to a spot with lots of running space. Although, I do have an idea.../ponder

In any case, I prefer duoing with an enchanter, since they can charm pets that can dual wield. :)

I had heard that the boars could dual wield. Never been there so I'm not sure if that's true, however I know that the ones you can charm in Nadox can so it's not out of the question.

From the zone in, how does one get to the boar area?

The easy way is to invis/levitate and run straight from the zone in, over the edge into the pit. Avoid wraiths and tortured souls; the rest shouldn't see invis. Find a hallway near the southwest corner of the pet, then head south.

The dire charm boars wander around in the pit itself.

Now that I think about it, aggro kiting downstairs shouldn't be that bad; you just need to have cleared a small area first, which is the tricky part.

kitting in pit? I dont see that beeing worth it
can easily root/dot upstair mobs other then those that 65+ cause they summon. Could try charming boars in the pens that should work too but with xp nerf probably not worth it.

can't root any boars/birds in tactics except A diaku boar in the stables. There is a rock on the right side where you are safe.
Charming there is fun but difficult due to the wanderer and limited space.

Uhh, I've not found anything immune to root in potactics yet. Birds and boars in the pit are all too high to charm, but i haven't found any boars in pens too high yet.

Well I'm not in the same zone but as a General rle for Soloing using the Root, DoT method, how long does it normally take to kill a mob and then regen your mana?

I'm currently lvl 45 in DreadLands and always prefer grouping. But things were slow today so I tried a bit of soloing. I pulled the mob, rooted, it, Dot'd with the 3 dots (65, 24, & 21 dmg per tick) and then sat down to med. THen just recast them as they wear off. By the time the mob died I was under half mana and had to sit and wait for my mana to regen for what seemed like forever.

At least in DL it's way way faster to group. Is it different in other zones or am I just doing it wrong? heh.

I normally have Clarity but not KEI since I don't have SoL or PoP to just go get the buffs like everyone else does.

DL has mobs that have a variety of hp, but their names are close.

Don't try ravishing drolvargs, they have way too many hp for the xp they give. Spiders cast. Do monkeys and regular drolvargs. You are better off grouping though.

There is no set time no matter what anyone says. It depends on what you're fighting, and what level you are. If it takes more than 2 full dot rounds, and maybe a partial, then you can probably find something else at your level.

Yea just go into pens and there should be 2 boars on right, just root and snare one and let other come at you, then root and snare that one, debuff and charm wait for root wear and start clearing, guards wandering hall shouldn't add. If you feel really ballsy try straight off charming it just make sure to root and snare first one you attack so you only gotta deal with your pet if charm breaks. Pretty easy to clear the pens out, just watch those blood tusk things, if theres one anywhere near the other when you attack it, plan on it training you.

I use an alternative way to get a boar out single but it does require innate camo and nobody else being in the pit.

Drop down and get into position so you can cast on the pens from the hallway. Hit one boar with snare thus taking him out of the equation and immediately click innate camo and run for the zone out statue. Stop when you get there and at the last possible minute root the boar thats chased you and zone out, zone back in and drop drown and you have a boar out in the arena waiting to be charmed.

DO NOT DO THIS IF THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE IN THE PIT!!
