Those who have yet to kill this guy might find this interesting.

Most guides I read (admittedly old) said this guy required two groups. So I figured, one solid group should be able to take him out.

Well, he was up, and a uber warrior buddy of mine was online with his multiboxed uber cleric. We got KEI, haste, and headed in...killed the guy easily. Cleric only had to Cheal twice I think, I never healed at all.

By the way, ALL my magic-based dots (WD, DoD) stuck on this guy no problem at level 59, so the guides saying he is 100% MR are wrong. I also landed some fire nukes for about a third, the cleric was nuking a bit also for partials. I couldn't stick Ro's Fiery Sundering or Ensnare to save my life however.

Whoa, thanks for the info. I still need this guy too, but keep putting it off because I can never get 2 groups together to go camp him.

So you did it with just 3 people? That's by far the fewest I've seen.

I wonder if the resist patch changed him or something.

I Killed Ulump with a 58 dru (me), 60 war, 60 clr, 60 wiz, 60 enc. It was a long fight, but well within our abilities. The warrior is a must, defensive disc > all. The wizard helped alot, since he could actually land DD on Ulump. The cleric took care of all the healing, this was well before TR. I just dotted and damage shielded. If you know a few level 60+ I would suggest one group. Its great fun when you don't have to Zerg your epic mobs.

Other information.. remember he is NOT snarable... and will run.

Don't need a defensive war really. The resist changes a while back made it so you can indeed land nukes on him. Previously only lures landed around half the time...

I would guess a druid, warrior (or possibly SK or pally) and any one other character would have a good shot at him (allowing for appropriate levels and gear).

I did it many levels ago with only 5 of us (but the war and the bard were pretty uber - was the first time I had seen the DS stacking in action was pretty cool :) )

Ya just three people, and we could have done it with just two. It's a bit of a cheat saying that, of course, since we got haste and KEI in the Nexus, but you get the idea.

The warrior is a main tank from one of the top guilds on my server I should point out.

I'm gonna try Faydedar with one group soon, I'll let you know how that goes.

ps...Oh I forgot to mention...the warrior is Zeniff (for those on BB who know him)...all three of us are halflings hehe. Funny seeing a toeling taking down uber mobs =)

Just did it with 60 druid (me) 64 magi 62 cleric and 57 necro.

Mage epic pet tanked, was fun =)

Ulump summons, correct? If he does too bad, I was thinking it would be kinda fun to dot kite him solo now that we can stick stuff on him. :p

I killed him with a group the other day an im a 65 druid, an nothing at all stuck on him, i tried ensnares and a range of dots, all resisted, im not too sure where you are coming up with that all your dots landed

We killed him with 65 Mage 61 Cleric & myself 57 Druid WD & ES slevees all landed many times and only 1 resist on each and Ro's resisted. DD laned but reduced damage. Pretty easy fight just took time no summons but pet and cleic 1 time. We tried again the next night but also with a 60 Druid added and did it even faster until the server chrashed with Ulump having 1 bub left , but no deaths so we will be back for 60 Druid again.

Odd. My group that killed him recently, 62 War, 65 Enc, 60 something monk and myself and nothing landed. Nothing! Not even the Enchantress could get anything to land. All my DOTs were resisted. He's obviously different depending on the spawn.

Killed with 65 monk 62 cleric and me (65 druid). Cake, cleric was fm in the end, I managed to land my DoTs with only about 3 resists on the whole fast.

Try casting from within melee range...

Hand of Ro - resisted
Winged Death - not resisted

I thought this was odd.

Our magic dots have always been resisted a LOT less than our fire dots. If you find a mob like ulump that is highly resistant to all types of magic, chances are you'll be able to land magic dots but nothing else.

Oh well, before the resist changes, I got to watch my group kill ulump and twiddle my thumbs.
