Has anyone found a spot where you can solo mobs with a chance at a parchment drop?

I know that the high level spiders in PoN drop them but I havent had time to see if they are soloable. My guess would be its no different than fighting things in places like PoM. Use a charmed pet, keep target rooted, pray charm doesnt break.. and expect a few deaths when experimenting lol

Exodus is your friend!

I havent seen the PoJ area that drops them, but I was told you needed a group to get there.

I think those spiders are 61+. I don't remember if they summon or not, but they are pretty nasty melee-wise.

Three words:

Pee Oh Vee.

Since the changes yesterday, there are a lot of solo'able MOBs that are dropping 61-62 parchments. I haven't found anything that I can solo that drops 63-64 parchments though.

And a word of caution to people thinking about trying the high level spiders in PoN, many can not be snared or rooted.

The Spiders are rough, but i've only done them once. We had a nice full group, had no problem with everything up to the spiders. We found we had to clear all the roamers like those banshee looking things, cant remember what their called, this is near where that named horse is. So maybe we didnt take the best route to pull the spiders.

Anyhow, our bard was pulling them, and most con'd lvl 60. I'm pretty sure they cant be solo'd, maybe by a Shaman. I just remember we worked hard to kill each spider, twice as hard as any other mob near there. It didnt help we kept getting adds, but again i'm not sure if we were pulling from the best place.

I'm still holding out hope that the parchments drop off of average mobs in PoN or PoD that most of us solo-kill, just very rarely.

If you're a nut case like me, you can quad the Mavuin hall in PoJ and score a lot of ethereal parchments.

I wish I knew of a single soloable camp for spectral parchments.

Okie one question I thought about that but do you honestly have enough room in their to do it ? Also what about additional aggro?

Abru, does it just require being a nut or is there some nice FT/mana/levels needed too? :p

Abrus pretty well equipped and talented :)

He was quadding elysians when people were deabting how to single pull them.

Why is it that Verant seems to always punish the casual player? Those "nuts" that went in and soloed their way to 65 in the first week are laughing now, because their prime XP spots are not nerfed, and they're past that levelling rush.

The poor casual player, who finds out weeks later where he "could" have gone, gets shafted.

Quit using us as beta testers VI, and roll out a finished product. You're not being fair to your customers.

PoN, netting wraiths drop parchments, got 1 for group (i lost roll) yesterday.

It looks something like this (IMHO)

1: Mob has to spawn high enough level (I think only the 57+ mobs can drop these)

2: Mob has to get "lucky" on the loot table roll

Ok, so you have to kill a high level, none summoning, rootable, mob and then "get lucky" on the loot table. Odds are very much against ya.

Whats kind of funny is that players (I myself used to) always refer to abru as "he". Is it that we tend to think of a lady as cute and decorative ? Abru may very well be a "he" in RL but as an avatar she is quite a "killer" as folks above have noticed.

Sorry, just tend to us "he" when referring to EQ chars.

Yeah no pictures you can only guess/assume on generic names :)

I assume every female character is a male anyway until I am given reason to believe otherwise. I am right more times than I am wrong that way.

Abru is a Female Woodelf druid however HE had posted a pic a while back on the nameless tavern (server forum) when he was fortunate enough to get an addition to his family (baby girl I think, can't remember :p )

I've heard of folks (druids) soloing mobs like Hobo (who drop eithral parchments, rarely) or even the non-rootable spiders, and I don't see how that is possible.

I have tried this and had to evac every time, the only options I've seen are using some kind of exploit (i.e. pathing).

Anyone actually done / seen a druid soloing non-rootable mobs?

I got a 61/62 parchment today soloing those druid frog like things on the bank of the river in PoN, don't know if parchments were just added to there drops recently as this is the first time i have hunted them since the 2rd week of PoP and they didn't seem to drop them then.

You know what forget it - there are 2 really easy places to get them... 1 of them is PoJ Mauvin hall - if you're not up for Abru-style quadding there you can root dot and control adds with harmony. Also you can charm a rat and bring it down but if it breaks in the high guardian hall on the way in you're toast.

Theres another even better place but I'm not posting it until we have a private non-VI accessible forum... with a password or something. I'm sick of everything that gets posted here getting nerfed.

The rats in PoJ are dire charmable, so no need to have charm break if you have that.

Quote:
Anyone actually done / seen a druid soloing non-rootable mobs?[/quote]Load up scoriae and run your @#%$ off between nukes. Works just fine, even if you have to stoop to using a level 54 spell. :p I've done this with Sentries in HoH (they still can drop spectral!), but there is also some odd pathing in some places in those temples, and if you understand it well enough you can work it out so you run a shorter distance than your mob does, which can buy you a couple seconds, and then you can use your higher level nukes too.

Someone remove this silly-@#%$ bad word filter. It makes me want to @#%$ and @#%$ @#%$ @#%$, especially when @#%$ @#%$ @#%$ @#%$, and then @#%$. Right?
