Was fighting Arch Mage yesterday and got ths AE on us:

lucy.fnord.net/spell.html...ource=Live (http://lucy.fnord.net/spell.html?id=3019&source=Live)

This DoT cant be cured or dispelled (that easy at least), a bard said he could dispell it on himself with Druzzil's Disillusionment, but using 3 cast of Anull Magic on myself, did not work, RC3 did not work (did not try multiple RC3).
Tried dispelling even without any other buffs up so the only icon in my buff window was the above DoT.

Big deal, we win that fight even with the dot not being curable, there are other strats to be used, but a small discussion started regarding what effects can be dispelled, cured with radiant cure (remove deterimental part) and if there is some effects you just cant get rid off.

In lucy I do not find any 'field' that displays how many deterimental counters something has, I will look at the raw data a bit more though.

Anyone out there that has some facts or similar experiences to share/discuss?

Try GRC (Greater Remove Curse) or RC (Remove Curse) , whichever you have. It will take a couple casts but I've cured it with multiple RC casts.

Hmm.., no curse counters on that DoT. I very much doubt that you are correct, but will give it a shot next time, thanks.

What I do know is that the Remove Detrimental effect on radiant cure is random. A few minutes ago I cast Drones of Doom on myself, used RC1, and drones was not removed. Just now I cast drones on myself, used RC1, and drones _was_ removed.

I don't know how the argument to Remove Detrimental is used though (1 on RC1, 3 on RC2, 6 on RC3). My theory was that Remove Detrimental had, say, a 50% chance of success per application, and the argument was how many times Remove Detrimental was applied. I think someone shot down that theory a while back though. :P I'll have a better guess in a few days when I get RC2.

I'm surprised annul magic didn't work though. Maybe the dot is somehow flagged as unremovable, like Resurrection Effects is?

Side question: does RC remove counters from "top down" in debuff/dot order? It seems to remove my SK's Aura of Pain recourse rather than the debuff/dot I was really hoping to cure (sounds like a bug there tho') but usually Aura was above it.

And Malo. It seems I can only remove that maybe 1 out of 4 tries with RC2 even with no other debuffs on. I'd guess Malo doesn't fall under poison, disease or curse category, is it just considered 'detrimental'?

Yup seems like Malo is pure deterimental, regarding what order stuff gets cured, not 100% sure I would guess that its starting from the top normally.
But there has to be something more to it, atleast with dispell you most of times get your first slot dispelled but semi rarely your 2nd or any other buff for that matter gets dispelled instead, random or some priority order, dunno.
