Can anyone confirm if Spirit of the Wood is Mass Group Buff'able from experience? Had enough heresay about it, but I don't know one single person who has actually done it. I really dont want to spend the points into MGB unless I can use it with SotW, and I dont see myself getting Blessing of the Nine anytime soon so I would have zero other uses for MGB for quite awhile.

This just proves clerics are better....
We can BoF *everyone* (or at least it benefits all casters) while you poor druids can't and are stuck with "massive woodies" At least you can still screw over clerics (ability to cast DB)
;-)
(note for the humor-impaired: THIS IS A JOKE! With a title like Massive Woody, it needed skewering)

Spirit of wood, can be used together with both mass group buff and /targetgroupbuff.
Use it alot on some PoP encounters :)

You know, we had 58 people on our raid the other day and I was wishing I already had my MGB. 58 x 1000 HP's = 58,000 HP's healed for ZERO mana. Wait till I max out SCR!! An extra 2 ticks?!? I for one feel we will find our place as needed classes on raids in PoP.
I'm saving up for this as well Fayne!

Can confirm. You can MGB or /tgb this ability. Works great on AE mobs.
Basically, if the mob AE's, I save MGB for the fight and do glades individually. On mobs like Arch Lich or the dragon in POI, this ability can take a whole raid from 1/2 dead to almost healthy pretty quick.
If the mob doesn't AE, I just use MGB on Glades. On pure melee ubermobs, if everyone needs a heal, something is very wrong.
Now if I could just get our guild's other main druid to get off his butt and get MGB, we could back to back cast it... over a minute of 200/tick regen for everyone, woohoo!

Yeah totally. I'm going straight for this combination of abilities with the aas I'm saving up.

Question:
If I have woody activated, and another druid activates his woody..
(ok stop laughing)
..before mine expires - does it prevent it from landing due to stacking issues? Sorry I would normally just test this out for myself but I have banned myself from EQ till my exams are over..

Shalrath,
If this AA works like other spells (which would make sense) then:
- If the second Druid is of equal or higher level than you, it will take hold overwriting yours.
- If the second Druid is of a lower level than you, it would bounce off of your spell, not "taking hold".
I havn't confirmed this. If it does work as described, talk about a waste of a 112 minute timer. Although, with a little bit of skill and planning I'm sure a few Druids could plan an enjoyable experience for the entire raid, employing multiple Massive Woodies.

I'm going to have to take a cold shower after having read this thread but it probably works like the cleric HoT spells which will overwrite one another, resetting the tick count.

OK, dumb question - whats the difference (other than one has been available since level one (/targetgroupbuff) and the other is insanely a long ways away for me?) :)

If you mean the difference between mgb and /tgb its that mgb (massgroupbuff) is a aa skill that makes you be able to cast one groupbuff spell on a whole raid (or everyone in range) every 72 minutes. (mgb's refreshtime is 72 minutes)
/tgb (targetgroupbuff) means (you activate it by typing "/tgb on") that you are able to cast a groupbuff spell on another group then the one you are in.
tgb you activate once and then its always on, so if you want to cast a groupbuff on your own group you have to target one of your groupmembers. If you want to cadt a groupbuff on another group you target one member in that group.
mgb has a button you press(click) and then after you activated it your first groupbuff spell will affect everyone inside the range (would think its the spells you are about to casts range). Once you casted a groupbuff spell you have to wait for 72 minutes until the ability (button) is ready to use again.
Hm.. I didnt type all this for nothing now did I? :)

mgb with sotw is a raid saver. At the very least, it prevents extra downtime. If you get 2-3 druids blowing this on a rotation during a boss encounter.....well....the numbers are insane.
I got mgb just for this skill and have no regrets.
SotW is also good when you need to evac but dont wanna lose your buffs with that low health zone crap.....click this on the run.....wait a few ticks and hit exodus.

Drekker, thanks for the explanation - I didn't know that the non-my-group-member had to be grouped as well - I thought it turned a group spell into an AOE - your explanation straightened that out.
