Basic rule to become a good EQ player:
Never use anything you didn't test before.

I spent 3 hours doing the named cycle in SF to get this spell. Fast forward to last week: I was charming in ME and got a pull with 2 beasts and one spectral wolf.
"Fine", I thought. "They are nicely packed together, time to try my new AE snare. One of those will be my new pet!"
I brought them nice and clean to safe area, memed Bonds of Tunare, waited on them to get in (what I thought would be) range, clicked spell to cast: "Out of Range". I spammed button and checked to see if my target is correct. a few seconds later it finally went of. Those 3 mobs where running straight to me, and I nearly killed my keyboard, so I am sure I fired the spell at max distance. It stuck exactly the time when those 3 meanies got in melee range and started biting chunks out of me.
"Fine" you think? Well, no. Sure, it was not interrupted, but that was even worse. Why? The target was too close by then, I got hit by the snare (SoE got cancelled of course) and I died.
Thank you Verant for making sure this spell is fine tuned to be as harmful to the caster as possible. If the range would be less or the casting time longer, I would have it cancelled or gotten interrupted. If casting time shorter or range was normal snare range then it would hit the targets at a safe distance. Sadly I don't have Exodus yet, so there still is a corpse rotting in ME.

Thank you Verant. I am THAT close to stop playing at all.
I should have known from my last visit in PoG that a goddess with a face like this is up to no good.

Yeah, it really sucks about this spell. A few weeks back, Verant made a change to how the Z axis is working or something, and if you are on any kind of uneven ground at all, you'll keep getting out of range messages until they are too close for you to snare them without getting yourself.

Wizards are really upset about this as they have no single target snare like we do.

Kinda made this spell a pain to use :(
