recently I saw the elsysian armor and thought to myself, "I have to get some". the problem is that I am only level 44. I considered trying to get to Umbral Plains and do an ooc to pay a few thousand pp per item to loot it. Any others ideas? Is there anything better out there? If not better, maybe something more attainable.

Small tip,

"ooc to pay a few thousand pp per item to loot it"

usual translates to:

"lazy twink with way too much money to spend seeking to pick over your droppings"

and will get you spammed and does nothing for your honor.

Instead, quiety, nicely, head over to where folks are hunting them. Buff them, heal em, be cordial, stay out of the way, and guess what? If something is rotting they don't need, most druids contrary to popular belief, are not ill mannered dr00ds ;) and will either /ooc it or send you a tell to loot it.

I actually got a tell,

Sosandso tells you "What pieces do you have?"
You tell soandso "I have legs, arms and gloves"
Sosandso tells you "Good, want this Elysian Tunic? I'm holding the corpse at loc x,y for you, don't want to cause a train ooc'ing it"

Eeeps

It is silly to have to pay for loot rights to something someone can not use rotting on a corpse, my opinion.

Srop by UP, bind there, send a tell to a druid hunting elysians asking if thy get any duplicate drops if they would not mind you looting and send you a tell. Most of the time they are /ooc or letting things that drop rot waiting on that one or two pieces they need still to drop. Most druid friends I know that still hunt for elysian armor are always yelling out when things they do not need drop.=)

I'm not sure what server ya play on, but on Karana, elysian drops ALL the time, everytime i'm in UP i see /ooc of ppl shouting its rotting, i wouldnt pay money to loot but rather go there and wait for something to drop, i even see people killing elysians for exp now who dont even need the gear anymore so i wouldnt think getting it would be a problem

ok, thanks for the advice, seems like i may be able to save a little loot. I will try to be somewhat discreet. The only problem is that I am not even sure if I can make it to that zone safely. As I said, I am only 44, amd I would have to run through maidens eyes (invised of course).

Be honest with me, is this armor a pipe dream for me at my current level?

btw, ant' bayle server.

Not a pipe dream. Like the other poster said, let people know that you are looking to loot the armor. I'm sure that most people would be willing to let you have it than let it rot :)

Plus, it's cake to get through ME invis/lev.

First, make a hotkey ... /shout Possible train to UP zone! This is just in case invis drops, or something that can see thorugh invis takes a whack at you and drops your invis. Once you start running through ME, do not stop. If you lose invis, spring a trap, get smacked ... whatever, keep running, and hit your hotkey if you suspect you have a train of mobs on you.

Now, run out of the tunnel heading East, turn three ticks of your compass to the right, which should be not quite SouthEast. Keep running ... you'll four-prong pyre looking thing and just past it, there will be a hill a little taller than the rest of them. Run directly toward it lev-ing off the top; you'll float all the way to the UP tunnel (I rarely even get aggro from the robes there using this method) ... KEEP RUNNING. The zone is just around the last corner.

Hope it helps, not as hard as you've prolly heard.

Yeah, running through ME is not all that difficult.

Elysian armor is great. However, I have not been blessed with a BP. I still have a treeweave at level 61 and I think that it is permanently molded to my skin. I think I'll be keeping it just to say someday that I'll be probably the only level 65 druid still wearing a treeweave. I have gotten multiple drops of every ther piece of that armor, including enough elysian bracers for all the twinks on Bristlebane (which is a lot), but never once a BP. I can't bear to kill another disturbed elysian remains.

Great advice everyone. Thanks a lot. I went to ME yesterday, and a few people there told me NOT to even try it. I guesss they have no guts. I think I will go this weekend during a time when there are a lot of people on. That why maybe all the mobs will be busy fighting other people and not aggro me as I run through.

Is ther any chance that any of you play on the Ant' Bayle server and would be willing and able to help me out?

Just a suggestion, if you're willing to partner with someone you don't know. Give a shout out in the nexus / bazaar for any 53+ druids that don't have all their elysian. Or /w and scroll through sending tells ... you're bound to come across a partner that way.

Better yet, head out to UP on the weekend or evening, and find a partner already there. When my partner was MIA and I'd be soloing, I'd have people send tells all the time wanting to partner up.

made it there, but it seems that no one fights the skeletons on ant bayle server.

with the harmony nerf, i think you are going to find that people soloing elysians has become a bit more rare :( thanks vi...

I never harmony'ed them before the nerf...you don't need to. Get some courage and just pull...egress is a click away.

Just a reminder, I am still level 44. I have no intention to fight them myself. I think that I will wait until 52ish and just kill'em.

At most, with a full static spawn, you only need to Harmony of Nature 2 disturbed elysians, then pull the 3rd. I can single pull from there all the time. If you have issues picking out the elysians, jack up your gamma and brightness of your monitor. With the southern most house, there is a static 3 spawn near the south end, and then a 2 spawn near the north end.

If a corrupted is found among the ground spawns, I have yet to be able to successfully Harmony of Nature one of them. I get a double "cannot be affected" message.

In which case you resort to picking off a wanderer. Maybe it's psychological, but I've always found better drops from the static spawns in the "burnt out houses", then from the wanderers to the north of the houses. They're still easily solo'able (with KEI + howler, without epic or FT items) at level 57-58. I can solo them without KEI, with howler, but requires careful rationing of mana.

I wouldn't recommend trying this sans Epic unless you were at least 54. At 53 you get Winged Death, and 54 reduces the fizzles somewhat.

EDIT: grrr, HTML off, EZCODES on

Whenever I was there I would ask others hunting them what pieces they had and told them what I had so we could trade. I personally would never send a tell to a twink when a level 50+ druid actively hunting them was also in the zone and needed it.

Normally I just /ooc'ed the location and let the dogs fight over the scraps. :p

Doesn't Elysian have a recommended level of 51?

patofnaud

Yes it does, but you can still wear it with dimished stats.

Even the lower stats is better then anything I got, plus I could wear it for the next 15 or more levels. Either way, I have lost some interest atm. I'm gonna wait until I am 50 then find a few other druids to go TAKE the armor.

Ok, saw the recent slew of posts on Elysian and figured what the heck, lets give this a try. I decided to bring along my 43necro and two box both for the additional dots, as well as moral support and a portable mana battery should I need it.

Got C3 for both characters before going, ported us to DSP, invised and ran to UP. Followed the directions to the safe valley, parked necro on the hill near the zone wall and went off looking for my first one.

Ran up over the hill and targeted one, /con... eeeep!!! Dark red... Swallowing a few times to clear the lump in my throat and muttering a prayer to Tunare i inched closer... then closer... and finally up he came. Single pull, pulled him back to the valley, snared and rooted him (used the lvl5 root). Drifting death, Breath of Ro, drones (es vambs). Necro tried his spell line up, found that on red to my druid cons, boiling blood and eternities torment (undead only dot) would stick about 30% of the time. All evening long I only pulled a single yellow to my 52druid.

Took about 12 minutes to drop, had to feed mana from my necro to my druid near the end of the fight, loot and woohooo!!! Crown on first kill...

Got into a routine after that, wound up spending about 3hrs there, got the crown, one bracer and a shaman spell scroll. Definately going back to get more...

Haven't had that much fun in a very long time... managed to only die twice while getting my system down pat, once to a multiple pull and didn't get egress off in time, the other to a wandering corrupted, (those things are NASTY...). All in all a very fun filled and rewarding evening :)

wow, red at 52, at 45 I may be in trouble if I even try to get to the corpes to loot.

I headed over there with my 47 Druid and 44 Necro a few weeks ago. The trip overthere was easy as pie. There were two groups and a solo druid killin the little buggers. I send polite tells to each group and asked if I might be permitted to loot anything that they get as a dupe. All the ppl I spoke to were amilable to that idea. In addition, I healed the solo druid a few times, and got invited to group with him. He was 51 or 52 I think. All my druids dots landed with no problem. The necros dots and spells landed about 50% of the time. He had several that had a better rate, so I switched him to those and mana pumping.

All said and done I only came away with a bracer, but I got LOTS of exp, and had fun in a new zone.

I must be without skill or just plain unlucky, as I don't find the trip across ME easy at all. I keep getting jumped getting messages like 'You feel the ground open ...' and 'A Vampyre Bat bares its fangs ...' I have tried all spells known to halflings, but I cannot outrun the bats. Is it really just drawing a deep breath, run for it - and hope they don't have blasters? Any advice is very welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Most of the trap monsters don't see through invis, and none of them outrun SoW. SoW up and invis, and go for it.

Have a hotkey train message ready just in case. But people rarely camp the UP zone line in ME, so it's unlikely you will train anyone.

Also, after you do it a few times, you will learn where to run across so that you miss the traps.
