What about spectrals?

Have to get into Halls of Honor to solo for Spectrals I think, I'm only PoV/PoS flagged so I wouldn't know if there are soloable Specral Mobs in BoT, PoNb, CoD, etc...

Death Row (the hallway just before Muavin [sp?]) in PoJustice is soloable and has a decent Parchment drop rate. And if you are PoV flagged, the Crystoline Golems in PoV drop them too in addition to the Lumuni Crawlers, Arachnids, and Golems. All soloable, some trickier then others =).

Where are the ones in POD that drop ethereals? Is there enough room to kill the stuff there with a charmed rat or would you have to root/dot them?

The place I hunted in PoD for parchments was know as the fly camp. Follow the wall to the right from the zone in until you get to the corner, turn left at that corner until you hit your first piece of flat land next to the zone wall. This is your camp. Plenty of charmable rats nearby. Pull vetri flies and malarian galls with Harmony of Nature. There are 3 islands to pull from in that corner, closest is a small round island with 5 vetri flies, behind that is a longer island with 6 or so vetri flies (one on top a rock) and to the right of that is another small island with mosquitos (I think called malarian larvae) and a Malarian Gall in the center. The only verti fly that I know is a PH for a named is on top the rock on the long island closest to the corner you just came from. The Malarian Galls also drop parchment, but are tough mothers. They summon so be careful of charm breaking.

Can solo for spectral in BOT also.

I have received a couple ethereals from the frogs in PoS (kind of a waste, as I dont need 61/62 spells, nor can I sell any of them)..
Spectrals drop quite often it seems in BoT for me... grouped of course.
Not to mention, your guild, if raiding in PoP, receives about 10-30specs each raid....
if you are on your own, grouping in BoT/PoS for named may be a good avenue to take.

You say spectrials drop often in BOT,, I call bull****! I have hunted there for awhile now with groups on raids and such. Only thing that droped any spec were the named up in the towers.

I hunted there all day sat and some sunday and not one spec dropped.

I watched someone else (watched as in I was hungry and didn't feel like staring at my computer so I watched them play IRL) get 2 spectrals in BoT just from exping there in 1 day. Your bull**** detector is broken sir.

Spectrals drop a lot for me off nameds in BoT, and I mean the non-tower nameds, and not the minibosses. Elif Whitewind is a nice one, as he doesn't have a PH you have to kill off (all the others can have a kriger as a PH). Not that you will have an easy time soloing that stuff, but a druid and enchanter pair can do it np, or a small group.

With a full pickup group in BoT I saw 3 spectrals, 2 wind-worn stones and a windrider's trinket in a span of 3-5 hours (the 3 spectrals were in 3 hours, I forget how long we continued to hunt past that point). Only one of the spectrals came from Elif; the other 2 were from regular giants. None of us were keyed for the towers.

Sometimes my luck isn't quite as good (I've had zero spectrals drop in a day before), but overall I'm pleased.

Drops are just very rare in BoT. You can group there 4 hours and get none.

Its not that drops are rare.. but sporatic.. you could have 3 drops off one named (or mininamed) and none off the next 4..
I have never fought named in the upper towers, so I cant say what they drop..
I have fought the 64 (referred to as blue cons) and the 65 (whiteconned) numerous times and I can tell you this:
Blue cons dont drop anything very often, but I have seen spectrals off of them from time to time (no actual items off of them as of yet) with an occasional ethereal.
White cons always drop a Ring of Torden and 50% of the time drop a spectral (seen 3 runes), with sometimes an item of worth. never seen them drop more than 3 (ring always one of them), but 1/2 the time its ONLY the ring.
its hit or miss with those guys, but exp is good, even if you dont get anything... I have chanter friends who duo with a druid for the named ( I always seem to be raiding when he logs on)... so they arent impossible.. even with a group, they are fairly easy.. Hell.. I even main healed against Laef (unslowable).. so if I can do it, 90% of you out there can.. = )
