Ok guys, as I've said a couple times, I've been out of the loop since right after Kunark came out. That being said, I have mostly equipment that is obtained on the main continents of Norrath (prior to expansions). I was hoping that if I gave you guys a list of what I had, since I've been back, I've picked up things I could hear and there. I can't get Magelo to work for me, but I'll list what I've got here, and you guys can suggest any upgrades obtainable by myself or a small (prolly tier 3) guild of 40+. Keep in mind I'm trying to get ready to start raiding ALOT. I've been waiting for the end game for quite some time, so I'm excited about doing Naggy/Vox, the planes, etc.

Weapon: Dark Ember
Shield: Charred Guardian Shield
Range: Small Wisdom Diety
Ear x2: Forest Loop
Neck: Black Alloy Medallion
Face: Plat Ruby Veil
Head: Othmir Fur Cap
Shoulders: Braided Ivy Cords
Finger x2: Plat Jasper Ring
Wrist x2: Chipped Bone Bracer
Arm: Ulthork Hide Arms
Chest: Shroud of Nature
Back: Acrylia Studded Cloak
Feet: Golden Efreeti Boots
Legs: Gatorscale Leggings
Waist: Crystalline Belt
Hands: Split Paw Hide Gloves

Well there it is. Again, this was really decent gear when I left EQ so long ago, but no druids my level seem to be wearing the same gear anymore.. hehe I like being different, but WHY!? :P

Any input would be appreciated, if you have none, thanks for reading.

OMG ITS ME!!!!

I was in the exact same boat as you when I retured to the game back in March (or so). Had quit just after Kunark came out and missed out on two expansions.

Umm... let me think. It took me a while to get back into the swing of things, but you may want to look at Velious quest armor, specifically Rowyl's. The pieces drop in Kael and you would be working on faction while you do it.

Maybe go to HG hill in Rathe Mountains and pharm some pp and take it to the bazaar and search for upgrades. A lot of the prices of things that would be upgrades for you (Kunark loots mostly) have fallen dramatically.

Stormfront... bazaar is your friend.

Seriously. Your best bet is go go to bazaar and do some filtering. Druid / Legs etc. You can then sort by price and can see exactly what stats of items you want.

Take a few days over each slot. Prices do change in bazaar and its best not to rush into a purchase unless its a good deal.

If you have no PP then check bazaar anyway. Its a good place to see stats of items and generally prices mean how easy they are to get.

"I can't get Magelo to work for me"

You probably have a firewall...you need to let magelo.com come in to your pc aswell as out.

Requests for input about equipment setups usually go in the Equipment board. This thread will be moved there in a bit.

Fingers and face, you can upgrade to Velium jewelry for a few points of wisdom. Since you are going WIS only in those slots, you might as well get the best WIS you can. Usually if you furnish the materials, you can find a jeweler to do the combines for free (tipping is appreciated though). Just remember, that even a 250 jeweler can fail sometimes on Velium stuff.

Next, I might suggest doing the Coldain Shawl quest. By level 4 or 5 you will have obtained a shawl that's better than the Braided Ivy Cords, and a range slot item that's better than the Wisdom deity. You can do most of the first few steps of this quest solo, but at your level you may have problems with the griffons for the eggs. Still, with a friend you'll do ok and get good experience.

The rest you are in pretty decent shape for now. Maybe start looking for some resist jewelry soon. By the time you are ready for Vox and Naggy, you'll need some decent fire/cold/magic resist jewelry.

Hope that helps :)

Oh yeah, firewall out my arse.. I'm on my laptop at work. Personal Firewall + Hardware Firewall + Server Software Firewall.. Poor Magelo ;)

I've actually been to RM getting revenge on those giants that used to beat me silly.. but it's just gotten way too overcamped, I generally just pop over there now at off hours. That's how I was able to upgrade my Dwarven work boots to GEBs, my CCS with a Shroud of Nature, and my black iron medallion to a Black alloy medallion, hehe.. and I twinked my bard out in lambent, so I'm now broke all over again.. /rofl

I'm thinking about resists, and I know NOTHING about resists... any suggestions? I've been told they aren't that important anymore with the new bard song and uber resist spells. Is this true?

I WANNA RAID!! :)

Sorry Scirocco- You can move it anytime, I didn't think about the other boards, I only ever visit the General EQ one.

Again, my apologies.

Resists are important - it's not always that you'll have a high level bard with you, plus if that bard dies, you have no song.

Important as resists are though, levels are even more important. A level 52 with 150 fire resist will resist a lot more of Naggy's attacks than a level 47 with 150 fire resist.

Eww.. I don't think any of my resists have broken 50 yet :/ I guess this means I have ALOT of work since most pieces I've seen add 5 here or there, but not ALOT anywhere..

Generally for Vox and Naggy if you can get to 100 unbuffed on Cold/Fire you are looking pretty good. You'll have buffs and (hopefully) bard song to get you higher too, but I know a lot of pickup raids on Cazic require 100 unbuffed CR/FR

Unbuffed meaning not even self-buffed? :P I'm looking for a loophole here, lol. I'm a human druid so if I switch my gear out for resists.. I'll be hating it when it comes to wisdom. I'm not "uber" enough to get gear with good wis and resists.. Oh well, I suppose I'll get my arse in gear and stop worrying about +wis item upgrades..

I can't help you much, but your post makes me feel better about what I'm wearing at 38, I match you on about 85% of what's there...

Second the /bazaar thing, though...go find yourself a wall and a piece of paper, and search for 15 or 20 minutes, there's lots of stuff there.

Don't worry to much right now. Your gear seem good for your level. About resists...its somethign that kind of comees along with gear upgrades. AS you begin to get higher end gear youll notice that your resists are goign to get buffed up as well. But resists are still something i am trying to work on at lvl 60 and keep a good balance of hp/mana/wis.
