As my guild goes farming through different zones we come across the wis spell components and bank them. When I find matches, we make spells and distribute them or sell them.

We have a copy of Levitation. Scribable by int and wis casters (Ench, Dru, Shm, Wiz).

I want to have an event for fun to distribute this spell to the winner. Guild doesn't like Arena stuff overall (which I think is a blast!). I don't want to base it on tradeskills since not everyone does that. I even considered a nekkid newbie race, all of us making chars on Stromm. I'd really lke to try to keep us on our home server using our abilites there.

Any ideas? We are all 60+. Are there any high level scavenger hunts available?

We had a KS compitition a bit ago. 5 Groups jumped on 20 or so mobs... And who could loot the most won.... That was fun because nobody is used to it... But that was in groups, and some casters will win. Oh yeah! Make sure everyone is drunk... It might help...

Naked Newbee races are fun... but getting over done...

Drunk GFay runs are fun... Might be appropriate for the lev spell.

Might be fun to try to find an arena that you can get high up in (with a ledge around)... I've never tried it but might make for a fun/different dual.

i always liked Dwarf ball, split into 2 teams, 1 team of lvl 1 ogres, 1 team of lvl 1 trolls (guess could be troll/de)... and a dwarf corpse, consent everyone, hide the corpse before hand and then first team to drag corpse to there zone, (ie WC or Lavastorm)... wins, first to 5 or something...

When my first guild did stuff like this, we found out that dueling was really the only well supported function. The other stuff required a lot of babysitting by the event coordinator. If your guild doesn't like Arena type events, I'd find out why. We had a few people who didn't like the stress of 1:1 duels but loved group duels. The only thing you've got to becareful of is that no one's getting picked on constantly (it's not much fun) and that teams are fair. Also, if you're in the Arena, I'd limit the play space - if you're alone, make it a rule that no one can leave the platform. If you're not alone, pick a far corner of the arena to play in. Nothing ruins a good arena event like some weenie getting on his horse and running around for an hour because he doesn't want to die :P

We do arena events occasionally. But as already said it depends on how people like it. We usually go 1:1 and group matches. The group ones are generally more fun for me, but whatever floats your boat. 1:1 can be fun as a druid if your resists are high...annul, snare, nuke, dot...most classes eventually go down to me.

But...

We also do a gauntlet there.

The entire guild lines up on both sides of the entrance to the arena (we generally only have about 30 or so online so 15 on each side isnt too many) and we then have one person try to run from the doorway to the platform.

Self-Buffs only.

Depending on the levels in your guild and general equipment layout (ours is pretty well equiped) you might want to limit nukes to a single one, ban dots (sorry necro's), allow SoW...etc.

But it can be fun to see how far you can get. I think one of our last winners was a wizard. Dang spellshield...

Levitation is made by combining dew clover, the left side of yaeth's page 70, a parchment and a quill. Of those 4 things, only dew clover is rare.

So...my suggestion, is give the copy of it you have to the person who needs it who will volunteer to lead a guild raid deep into Cazic Thule or other place where it drops to get more dew clover.

That way you get 1) fun outing for the guild 2) more copies of the spell.

Firiona Vie Docks, Drunken Fishing Derby.

There aree 2lb Fetid Bass up through 17lb Fetid bass.

Some friends held a Skill level Handicapped fishing derby. If you can manage not to fall off the docks its pretty fun.

If you've seen The Amazing Race on television, you could organize one of these. I ran an event of this sort a while ago, and it worked quite well. teams of 2 racing to complete tasks. Ports were not allowed, but using spires/books etc was allowed. Take advantage of zones people aren't so familiar with (we started in DL, next stop was paludal where they had to find someone hidden in the caverns, then the island in erud's crossing where they had to collect 2 items from the mobs there, next stop was caverns in the middle of hollowshade moor, and finish line was Faydedar's island.

Another idea is "gnome darts" where you sink one gnome body under water, then each contestant has to drop the next corpse from the surface of the water (while lev'ing) with only the /loc to guide them. Person who's dropped corpse lands closest to the 'target' corpse wins.
