View Full Forums : To the SOS rogue who asked to come to our POI Dragon raid

Asking to come along while we were fighting the robots to defend the gnome, then being granted leave to do so, then, when the enchanter became distracted and let the gnome go activate Xanomech before we were ready then laughing and telling our guild leader "you guys suck".

Go to hell. Some people should have been raised better than you.

Ah, now I feel better.

Heh! I got so sick of that raid. We were doing it like 3 times a week for months on end, or so it seemed. Anyway, there truly is a trick to it. We failed almost everytime we first tried it, not because of the dragon, but because of the stupid gnome!

The tactic we finally got was we cleared way ahead of the gnome before we even activated the quest. That way the raid gets to the dragon well in advance of the gnome. I'd say a good 5 minutes ahead of the gnome. We had problems with people blocking his path, and he would despawn (/rude SOE). So we just had a single group escorting the gnome, the rest of us clearing. We do virtually no buffing except haste along the way, but what we do at the very beginning, or as people joined the raid. The buffs last long enough.

Then, when the gnome shows up to that closed area, everyone stays well away from him, on the other side of the dragon.

Then you go, get oil slicked, deal with the crappy positioning issues and there you are!

That rogue sounds like a tard though.

People who tell our raid leaders "they suck" get instantly promoted to raid leader =P.

Though Pana's explanation is more amusing, I think it was originally used as a shortened "retard".

Or perhaps a "retard" is someone who was labeled "tard" previously, so now they are "re-tarded".

Mwahahaha, have fun with words.

Nothing like having to run a raid to change your mind quick on how easy it is.

when we kill the PoI dragon, just have the gnome beat on a SK, or monk till we buffed, then FD, mem blurr and let him do his thing. did this not work before? would be a pain if it didn't.

That's like in Douglas Adam's book. The ruler of the universe is the person who least wants the job. They figure that's the most qualified person for the job.

There is another person in the known universe that reads Douglas Adams! My god what is the word coming to?

Everytime anyone at work (employees not citizens) ask "can I ask you a question?" I always answer "42". When they go "huh" I just laugh and say read some Douglas Adams.

Yeah! I remember back in "my day" EVERYONE had read Douglas Adams and if you said "42" you'd get a smile from everyone instead of blank stares. /sigh

Why isn't it required reading in high school or college?

Remember how to fly? Throw yourself at the ground and miss. :)

Wow, seems like everyone I run into knows where "42" is from, to the point that it's overused.

Of course I went to a college that specializes in engineering, so that's to be expected I guess. :)

Hey, well, I'm 23, and no, didn't read him in school, but I have certainly read quite a bit of him.

And where is my azz shake Chenier? You've been neglecting me :(

When people get upset with me I dive right into reciting Vogon peotry. =D

Oh freddled gruntbuggly thy micturations are to me
As plurdled gabbleblotchits on a lurgid bee.
Groop I implore thee my foonting turlingdromes.
And hooptiously drangle me with crinkly bindlewurdles,
Or I will rend thee in the gobberwarts with my blurglecruncheon,
see if I don't! - Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz

The dead swans lay in the stagnent pool.
They lay. They rotted. They turned
Around occassionally.
Bits of flesh dropped off them from
Time to time.
And sank into the pool's mire.
They also smelt a great deal.

So, Trev, are you finally admitting your bindlewurdle is crinkly?

Hrm... not to derail the azz shaking, but the typical tactic we used to do is assign a chanty to the gnomer.

Mez/mem blur as needed for breaks in the clearing, dragon prep buffing, etc. works well, no dealing with any backspawn.

Dude.... just give the gnome a towel.
