Hey all, my magelo profile (http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=295291) has my current set of gear. So many of my slots need to be upgraded, but which first?
I get to play about 2-3 hours per weekday and quite a bit more than that on most weekends. I'm in a family-style guild, not a raiding one, since I can't dedicate as much time as that sort wants, and I won't be elemental for a long time, if ever. The majority of my time is spent soloing, though I do love LDoN groups and will join one at any opportunity.
I don't have a large cash stash, though it has been getting better with the time I'm spending in Dulak, and by selling LDoN forages and tradeskill-created things, like dyes.
I'd really love some of that ornate stuff, but I just don't have the money for patterns, nor a hope of getting into the zones that drop them anytime soon. Since my server is fairly old - MithMarr - I'm hoping the prices for them will start dropping as more get into the bazaar.
I've got my eye on the Elysian tunic (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=8067) now that I'm 57 and have a chance to survive up there, so that's where I'm headed to try to upgrade my chest slot.
Other than that, what do you guys recommend I upgrade first? Also, any suggestions on what to upgrade to are gratefully accepted, and I do understand that prices aren't the same from server to server.

Maybe give an idea on how much you do have to spend? :)
For example if you have enough you could look at things like Ornate armour....but then that might be out of your price range.
Slots generally I feel you should try to look for alternatives are your belt and mask. Possibly try to get some things with Wis there your not maxed yet so its all good. Also some more HP on those items would help :)

Well, I've got about 15k total right now, but I hesitate to spend too much of it. I have all of my level 58's spells, but some of those coming at 60 are terribly expensive from where I'm standing. I will still be making more money as I skill up though, so it's not like I have to sit on all of it, cross fingers.
I'm also working on my shawl - have the fourth right now - and will have to skill up various Tradeskills to get much further.

I was really big into farming my own stuff and questing a lot of things and a couple of the things i did seem like they could help you =).
For your range slot...Talisman of Benevolence is a great skyshrine quest...one simple single group fight and a great item (just have to find scout charisa up in WW).
For your mask...I wore my golem's jawbone for a long while and i'm pretty sure you can solo it now since your level 56 root should hold for a long while. Go to the Grey and root/dot the eternal golems in static spawns outside and around the temple of ssra (should be great exp for you too hehe). I can't remember the name of the named golem...but he has a chance to drop the jawbone and it's really a pretty nice mask with 8 wis, 25hp/50 mana....the named golem is barely harder than the normal eternal golems (basically just more hp...doesn't summon or any of that stuff).
Elysian tunic and arms are great too...wore those a long time too hehe, and of course you're working on the shawl....all of those are awesome things to work for that don't really require having lots of plat.

and bah again =P just remembered.....
Your belt slot...Tunarean Soldier Belt...wood elf cultural druid leather belt, should go fairly cheap...it's less than 5k on Tunare server and it's really really nice...like...it has almost the same stats as the tunic (it's the best piece of the tailored suit imo)
yay post count +3 =P

i agree with the belt first.
also, get your guild to flag for the first couple pop zones, you don't need to go far to get stats on the pop charm, and every bit helps. I think just getting the poj trial and bot key done gives you 1 notch of the stats, which is better than none.
just my thoughts while bored at work...

Got decent Claws of Veeshan (velious dragon) faction?
If so, the Circlet of the Falinkan is a nice head slot item that you can quest pretty easily. Each part should be doable with 1 group or less, though I'm not sure how the Dragon Necropolis part will be after the revamp.

How about a Sand Erroded Shell?
Would give ya some HP and some Mana and a few more wis and a clicky effect. On our server they are down to 1-2k also

drop them thur eboots asafp... elysian boots are better simply based on other stats... much better ac and so on. coldain skin boots are an option... but really i wouldn't waste the money on it since you can solo for the elysian boots. and then just hold out till ornate booties. coral ring from nadox is a good upgrade to your fleshweavers mark. i know its got regen 1.. but ya know... most of the time it doesn't help that much. hope that helps.

You're right, I do. And it's partly due to having a wonderful friend in an elemental guild who gives me hand-me-downs when she gets delicious new no-drop pieces. :) And believe me, I am thankful.

Elysian is the way to go for decent upgrades. Drops are fairly common, although if you are looking for that last particular drop, it can get frustrating. This can be solved somewhat by either grouping with other druids that hunt there or striking deals where they tell you of rotting drops and you do the same.
Most druids at safe corner are pretty good about announcing rott. I managed to get a full set of elysian at your level and got decent experience while doing it as well.
Plenty of strats out there for a 57 to use. I snared, rooted (level 5 root) and DoT'd (swarm line). Then just kept re-rooting or simply just med-kiting. There's plenty of room.

I've heard of charming in UP too, but my first reaction to that is that you're just asking for trouble. With mobs that summon, plus charm that will break at just the wrong time, it sounds more like a great death opportunity to me.
Thanks for all your input, everyone. I've been nosing around the Grey lately, seems like something I could pull off alone if I can get the camp. *cross fingers*

The Grey is pretty empty on Terris Thule so you shouldn't have too many problems with the camp.
One issue though is that The Grey has become a dangerous place to hunt these days. The roaming traps can catch you unawares if you're not careful.
I would go with the root/dot approach as opposed to kiting now. Also, the golem jawbone is just one drop out of five(?) from a rare named. If you are going to camp exp there then you'll do fine. If you're looking for a drop then you will get frustrated.

Yeah, it would really be both. I'm trying to get to 58 as quick as possible for CH, and if the golems give the same xp as those rock things near the SD tunnel, the Grey should be as good as yard trash is in PoN. I'm getting about 1% per kill there, and from those rock things.

If it was up to me, I would most certainly ditch the Efreeti Boots, I used Coldain Skin over them for the most part, until I upgraded to...
Wanderer's Sylvan Boots
+14 AC +4 Str +6 Sta +5 Wis +35 HP +40 Mana
+3 vsMg +3 vsFire +3 vsCold +3 vsPos +3 vsDis
Slot types: 7
Effect: Mana Preservation IV
...not sure how much they go for on your server, but I got mine for 9k on the Nameless, after some haggling and browsing for a week or two, I imagine I will be using them for a long while, at least until my guild is VT or Elem enabled.
Wanderer's Sylvan Cap
+14 AC +4 Str +4 Sta +4 Agi +8 Wis +40 HP +50 Mana
+5 vsMg +3 vsFire +2 vsCold +5 vsDis
Slot types: 7
Effect: Plainsight
...was another decent upgrade from the Bellow's Crafted Cap. The Ornate Leather Cap pattern only cost me 3,500p on the Nameless, so was a good buy and I'll be wearing it for a while at least.
Regardless, you really cannot go wrong with the Elysian Armor, I still wear the tunic and the arm guards at 63.

I agree with all the above Kailysn, was just wondering did you render that 3d version of your toon yourself? If so you have damn fine skills
