I am trying to raise Yelinak faction. The mobs I have been killing in Kael (up by Tormax area) have pos Yelinak faction and pos Dain faction.

I havent been able to catch Yelinak up lately and he is the only mob I know of to check his faction against. I did catch Dain up today and was still KOS to him.

Anyonr know of any mob other than Yelinak to check Yelinak faction against?

I started out as KOS to both of them. Since I have apparantly moved so little in Dain faction ( I know that SCOWLS is the largest "faction area" to get out of) is it reasonable to assume I am still KOS to Yelinak as well. Remember the mobs I am killing gives positive faction for both.

I have killed approx 9 mobs (think they are 2 hour spawn) over the past week or so. Any one have any idea how many I need to kill to from deep KOS to say AMIABLE.

Any help would be appreicated.

Thanks

Sorry to say, unless they've changed things since I bothered with Velious faction (which they may have with the ST revamp), the fastest and easiest way to get Yeli faction is to kill KT. If I recall, 3-4 KT kills will bring you from deep KoS to Amiable with Yeli. I could be wrong.

I had read the thread listed prior to posting and it does have some decent information.

Unfortunately I have an extreme amount of difficulty actualy finding Tormax up so being in on a kill party (even for faction purposes) is unlikely. It seem that the best I can do is to kill the see invis giants up in his area that give + YEL faction (ie the Storm giant general), plus turning in helms, and toes. This seems to be the most viable path for me and the one in which any knowledge would be appreciated.

The other quests from everything I read give miniscule faction adjustment. The only exception and the ones I havent seen addressed in any threads are the SS armor quests. Does anyone know the amount of faction adjustment (big, small) that these give?

Any further information from anyone would be helpful.

Thanks.

I honestly think that quests(ie helms) are the way to go. Try to get a KT kill if you can as mentioned before, but I understand that difficulty. :) The "leader factions" of the various velious races are a pita to raise.

How did you get KT's head unless you killed KT at least once, or did you buy the Helm and intend to Transform it via the quest?

KT's guards also give +500 each, which is a massive Yelinak hit, but you'll need maybe 2 groups to kill them. One super solid group might be able to kill one, I haven't tried them in AGES

I got the head off a late night pick up raid that formed when we found KT up.

May I ask where you got the info on KT guards giving a +500 faction hit?

I have been using a small group (3-4) to take out Dlammaz? and his PHs (storm giant general and the other PH whose name I cant think of ATM).

Trouble would be to try to get back to the throne room and try to pull his guards without respawn biting me. Especially when only working with a 3-4 man group. We were able to take out one of the lvl 66s that came from Tormax chamber though he didnt give a YEL hit so I dont know if we can take down the actual guards or not.

Any info you have on size of hits for the mobs I am killing would be appreciated.

I killed the guy 4 times today. Went to check Dain faction and am still KOS to Dain. I am assuming the faction hit for both is the same but that could be an error on my part. I have also done the toes and helmet quests as well as some SS armor quests. I have no idea how far KOS I was to Yel compared to Dain either so until I can catch Yel up I can only assume I am still KOS.

I got my boots last night.

Well for those who may do this quest in the future I offer the following info.

Started KOS to Yelinak
Started KOS to Dain
(dont know how far into KOS I was to both).

Killed Dlammaz (spelling), Dlammaz PH, about 25 times total.
Killed 2 Dain guards
Killed 3 other +yel , +dain mobs that spawn in Tormax room.

Turned in about 180 helmets and 30 toes.

Finished KOS to Dain (helmets and toes give no faction to Dain)

Finished high enough amiable to Yelinak to do the quest.

I believe I was pretty much Max KOS to both Dain and Yelinak to start and I assume that the faction adjustment for killing the mobs is the same to both factions.

I believe that the faction adjustment for killing the mobs (other than Tormax gaurds) was around +50

I believe the faction adjustment for helmets was around +5. (I was amiable but not high enough to do quest. Turned in 30 helmets, still amiable and could do the quest). and the toes were +1.

Good luck

(yay, the title of the thread is generalized so i don't have to start a new one :D )

Anyone have info for the other angle? Trying to raise faction for the Dorf slaying belt, managed to get non-kos to Kromrif and just need to work on my Zek/Tormax Faction.

iirc, simply doing a few runs through east ToV should help mightily for zek faction.

As for tormax faction, I can't recall.

To get Tormax faction and Rif and Zek I believe the easist route (and it has been a LONG time so you may want to double check) is to kill the coldain guards in the mines in Great divide and turn in their heads for faction.

You can also get tormax faction from killing Dains guards and the Sensachel (spelling) which are around his throne (think they are called Royal Guardsmen).

Good luck.
