it has come to my attention (through trial and error) that the new versioin of the board software will not allow a post of 9 or fewer characters.

so let's say someone says something perfectly crazy in a post:

Sobe: We're all going to have cold duck liver for dinner, meet at Aldo's in Baltimore's Inner Harbour area at 7. See you there!

my typical response would be:

Alyn Cross: /Cackle!

now, those who can count will note that is only 8 characters. I'm sure this is a setting somewhere that can be adjusted, so please, please, PLEASE...

... let the cackles continue!

It is intended to prevent Alyn from building up post counts by meaningless /cackle spam....:)

In that case, just make it so that any post with less than fourty characters, or eighty characters for that matter, subtracts a post from your post count. No silly one-liners merely to increase post counts, and if someone writes just a lot of stupidness to get around it, it'll probably get reported. *grin*

its an anti-cackle setting - and yes we already have noted this - its on the list but there is bigger priorities.. I think we put the NAME problem above the 10 character issue, we believe it's just a setting some where in the millions of settings we have been working through (just remember.. we all have jobs, so we work too). So keep reporting the "problems" in the problem thread or I will ban the word cackle ;)

Reason why I haven't been around like I used to is because I got a new job (*coughs*, better paying job) but the downside is I cannot surf the web 8 hours a day like I was able to at my previous employment.
