God help us...those threads in general are getting almost as bad as the petition was.

Now wait...don't get me wrong. I read and followed the petition, supported it. Didn't agree with every point but the meat of it.

But here we go again. Every day that list is looking more and more petition like.

I have to say, I don't think we are broken. I am annoyed that this is becoming a how broken the druid is thread.

A valid question at the heart of it...why do we say we are less desired in groups? Lead on from there...what (if anything) can be done?

Also like the idea of brainstorming. If the stuff is not considered an appropriate fix today I am sure they are trying to figure out what spells/aa to add for the next expansion.

But god, the list gets longer and longer, and what is worse, the trolls become more and more plentiful, breeding once again like maggots in rotting meat.

So what is this rant about?

It is about the process of message boards. The esprit of them if you will. You simply cannot connect two points without passing through every other point in the universe. And that means yet another hellish sleigh ride across snowy fields and through filthy sewers.

Here we go again.

Damn I wish sometimes that a thread could just be itself...without all the melodrama and bull****. Disagree with points? Sure. But all the sturm and drang I can do without.

Oh, come on... everyone knows that druids don't need a 90% res... it should be 100% or nothing :p

And of course we wouldn't need that if not for Iraq and all those WMDs that haven't been found yet.

And of course, Iraq wouldn't have been such a problem if not for Al Qaeda... and they wouldn't have been a problem if Bill Clinton had captured Bin Laden instead of being AWOL for 2 hours most likely getting a ... um... "haircut" so to speak...

And if the earth had never cooled, we wouldn't have to worry about it anyway!!

(Sorry, just trying to connect everything in the known universe to this thread :p )

Wow, I so agree with you Oldoak. Druids are not a broken class IMO. It would be nice to get some tweaking to make us more desired in groups, especially in light of the soloing nerf(s).

I wish people would read. Of course this assumes some level of reading comprehension, too.

This is kind of covered in another thread, but what I find really amusing is how all the 'class' boards love to tattle on each other. A player of Class A will to go Class B's board, read ONE LINE and post on Class A's board, "WTF! Have you seen what Class B wants NOW?!?" despite the fact that there may be more members of Class B saying, "Nah, we don't want that." The level of childishness in this stuff is rather sad sometimes. And I absolutely agree with the concept of brainstorming. You have to look at all ideas before you can decide which ones are good and which ones aren't.

I agree with all that Oak. Druids aren't broken. I fell in love with my druid again during PoP. Luclin was horrible (as we all know) but now with all her aa's, buffs and such she's seriously fun to play in groups and especially on raids.

I hate seeing all the threads leading towards discussing all these things people think we need. We really don't *need* anything except for maybe 1 or 2 tweaks to existing abilities.

Don't get me wrong though, I think there is a valid point hidden deep within all those posts - soloing is now broken. We got hit twice - the charm exp nerf and now the exp changes. What once gave us 8-12% solo charming will now be cut down to next to nothing so that the risk vs the reward will be pretty unbalanced. I hope it's not going to be as bad as I think it will be and if it is that they take a look again at the soloing nerf and make some adjustments. With class balancing, the fact that druids could solo well/effectively was always a big point. Now that is being reduced twofold. We'll have to see how it turns out I guess.

PoP has been a blast for anyone who enjoys raids or who hasn't burned out on them. Of the seven druids who I am closest to in the game, two are in the elemental planes and Time and they are thoroughly enjoying themselves there and when slumming with immensely more powerful gear and AAs than they had pre-PoP, one continues to play and finds groups that are in zones with horrible exp for her level and the other four (including myself) have essentially or completely shelved our mains that we have played since release and play our alts mostly.

While I can't disagree that druids aren't broken, I do believe there are fundamental grouping mechanics that are broken. And the "raid or die" environment in PoP may be beneficial to many in all classes, it has been detrimental to druids (and other classes) who do enjoy grouping but not raiding.

I had to stop reading those threads; they were giving me a headache.
