I've been searching high and low, and apart from the usuall speel dished out with the release of GoD, I can't find anything on this new class.
I'm looking to start one up as my main alt, and would like to buy some of the required gear before it comes out.
Can anyone help me out here?

2HS and 2HB I think are the only weapons they can use, I could be wrong.

Aye - they have mentioned 2hs axe's so i'm gonna start some farming to pick one up. I'm assuming they'll be able to use the universal stuff so i've invested in a RBB to put around his waist.
i'm just struggling to find anything else about them. Bit strange considering the expansion is due out in a matter of weeks.

I found a Berseker board, but as you all probably guess, there is not much traffic there yet and infos as there is a NDA still going.

Sweet jeebuz! That would be overpowering, even with the high delay on most 2H weapons. Even so, could you imagine the STR and endurance this class must need? I'm thinking that the Berzerker class is going to have an inate ability that reduces the delay on all 2H weapons. I'm also sorta looking forward to all the new "thowing" things that the class is supposed to use for range items. ie: rocks, boulders, orc pawns.....

I have freed up a slot to try it out. I am a sucker for new classes :)

All I can see is that these guys get snare at level 8... yay rah another class gets snare.. /shrug I should be used to having nothing unique. Still bothers me though.

some misconceptions:

Berserkers CANT dual wield 2H weapons, in fact, they cant use 1H weapons, Ive heard about them having skills 2H slash, 2h blunt anf of course, throwing.

They seems to get some effect on the axes they throw but think of it: you cant use range weapon in close quarters, they will have the exact same limitations (and bugs that SOE dont want to fix at all) that rangers have on their bow: exemple: there is a little bump on the ground that sometimes stop arrows before it reach the monsters (thats why most rangers who use bow wont shrink, shrinking make that happen even more!), they wont throw axes when there is mezzed mobs in camp, for fear of it hitting them instead of the mob currently being killed, they wont use throwinf when the mob is cornered (a la AOW fight and all their variants), ... so if it is resisted at pull, too bad, the mob is on you and you can throw another one, ....

Before anyone start complaining, blah, another class with snare, think of it, it will be a ~poor man's snare~, much more limited than what casting classes got, that you wont be able to rely to say as, our group need a snarer, lets take a berseker, that wont happen.

Ahh I didn't realize those were there throwing hammers.. figured they were their normal melee weapons with snare procs.. that's not so bad then

- What type of armor will the Berserker wear?

The berserker's need to be unrestricted in battle will limit them to light chain armor. In a berserker's mind, plate armor is too bulky and heavy, and would not allow their full rage to be known.

- Will the objects that they throw be player made, store bought, dropped, or a combination of all of the above?

Berserkers will be able to use their own personally crafted axes, as well as items that are bought or acquired through adventuring.

Berserkers will be able to turn in various tomes to their guild masters in order to receive the proper skills needed to fashion together their battle axes. For instance, at level 1 berserkers will be able gain the ability to create a "Corroded Axe" that they can use to throw at their opponents. As the berserkers gain in age and knowledge they'll be able to learn different skills that'll make their axes much more powerful.

- Where is their damage supposed to come into the game in terms of balance, in relation to current classes?

Berserker's damage comes in between a warrior and a monk. Their damage will be slightly higher than a warrior's, but it won't be as high as a monk's.

- Are they a burst damage or sustained damage class?

Berserker's damage will be generally sustained with a few burst DPS abilities similar to the current discipline set up for rogues and monk.

- What races can play a Berserker?

The berserker class will be available to the following races: Barbarians, Dwarves, Ogres, Trolls, and the Vah Shir.

- Will they have the ability to solo or primarily be a grouping class, or some combination of both?

Berserker's are a light chain armor class that'll have a hard time soloing because of the lack of an effective heal. However, they will provide several benefits to a group with their axe techniques, sustained DPS, and a group war cry that'll increase the melee abilities of the group.

- Will they bring something essential in terms of abilities to raids and/or experience groups that other classes can not?

Berserkers will bring good DPS and group war cry abilities to raids that will make them desirable to have along in any situation.

- We've read that they are masters of thrown objects, as in they are a ranged damage class. What makes them different than rangers in this regard?

The berserker's throwing damage is lower than their melee damage, but they do have a few special throwing skills that allow them to have a limited utility in a group situation. In relation to rangers, they'll be doing less damage in a range situation.

- Will there be an "epic quest" introduced as there was for the beastlords?

Both an epic quest and an epic item will be available to the berserker class at launch.

- Any estimates on when we see the first 65 Berserker after release? :)

I'd wager that there will be a 65 berserker within the first 3-4 days of the Gates of Discord launching, if not sooner :)

Thing I'm sort of boggled about is how they are suppost to have the DPS inbetween warriors and monks if they are limited to 2H weapons. /shrug Maybe I'm just ignorant about that kind of stuff :)

There is conflicting information about the existing racial penalties. Can anyone confirm the following:

Dorf = 0%
Kitty = 5%
Barbs = 5%
Ogres = 10%
Trolls = 15%
