This game is just amazing for a fps. Although I've yet to find a server with instagib on it, I don't believe it can be done on demo, it's still a fabulous game. The onslaught game is intense and promotes teamwork to the next level. Similar to Unreal 2 xmp you have vehicles that you can pilot. It also adds a planetside feel to it with way point captures and the like. If you haven't tried it out yet, and you enjoy first person shooter games, I encourage you to grab a copy of the demo.

One thing I will say on the negative side, is that it seems that the people that enjoy abusing games by using third party programs and offsets to increase their chances at winning, i.e. hackers have already torn into the demo and can be found across several of the servers that are up. Hopefully when the full version gets released it'll hold off these hackers for a bit. If you're like me, modifying the game is just cheating, cheap and takes away from the whole meaning of the word 'game'.

Enjoy the game, and if you see a hot chick pointing a big gun at you with the name of Pearl, it's me and you better duck. :)

Yeah, I preordered the DVD special edition of this. At 40 dollars, that is a total bargain.

A great game to vent single or multiplayer when ooo I dont know, your EQ server goes down around 5pm during let say...an Ikkinz raid....and stays down until 2am the following morning.

Not that this happened on Zeb last night, and I was playing UT till I went to bed or anything.....................

This is just a PVP type of thing right? Like the other Unreal Tourneys?

I played with Quake deathmatch, and even played the engine demo ID called Quake 3.

I was never much into pure deathmatch for the sake of splatting the other players, though I wasn't bad at it either.

I like that the graphic engines are finally coming to a point where they can limit the display rates to 30 and leave more time cycles for other functions the computer must perform for games. Getting away from just trying to push the engines to sometimes display at 30 fps.

Still awaiting Doom3 and halflife 2. [Tim Taylor voice]Oh ,oh oh ,oh oh.[/Tim Taylor voice]

The nice thing about UT2004 is you have a variety of game styles to play - 4 in Single player in fact.

Deathmatch - youre traditional PvP / Team battle for most kills.
Bombing Run - A Basketball type game. 4 vs 4 style ball. Player who has the ball cannot shoot/use weapons while carrying. Can throw the ball away or pass to a teammate. Trying to score into a goal in the opposing teams base x times.
Assault - A mock up of some event that happened at some point (ingame of course). Team A vs Team B and you are given a walkthrough to do this then this then this etc. You have a fixed amount of time to accomplish the ultimate goal. A lot of fun (and difficult)
Capture the Flag - Very similar to the quake CTF back in the day.

Online/Multiplayer options are the same with the additions of Insta-Gib (one weapon single shot kills).

I for one love the single player, as teh multiplayer they have a microphone chat option and you have to put up with people playing their lame ass music, talking "smack", and generally being rude. Of course killing them is always fun.
