God, I was too young game wise to have one of those before they stopped being all/all. It is a neat thing for the real old timers (/cough Lotus) who have one, but I got my first hit of DE illusion the other day (new shaman potion) and I just don't think I will be able to avoid the potion habit.

I like my druid as a class...but I have made a lot of DE twinks since I like that race.

And I gotta say, Oldoak made one of the most evil looking DE's I have ever seen...no joke. I really would love to be able to get this illusion without having to pay the candyman all the time.

there was a GM event a while ago that gave out a Mask as a reward... (When FP invaded Neriak)...

I was like 3 seconds from it =( (First person to zone got it)...

The day before my group of friends and I were planning to hit LGuk and get ourselves hooked up with some sweet DE masks, it was nerfed.

We were pretty pissed! I'd love to see this happen too :)

Yep Madrone, as I recall the druid that won the mask at that event was already on Ebay and was only online trying to get people interested in purchasing him. So glad the gm's helped out his diserability on ebay. *grats*

But never was real clear on the game logic that said only bards and rogues needed illusion masks...I suppose it is all part of being sneaky...

I remember with my first druid saying "eh, I'll get one eventually" and waiting around too long. My husband, less lazy than myself, got one for his Ogre warrior and Erudite Necro and I was always insanely jealous of him and mad at myself for not getting one.

The WE mask mighta been cool...if I wasn't a Wood Elf.

Heh ... when have you ever seen a WE druid after all?

The fun is in being a race very different from your own...and while We IS different from halfling, I would be more excited to be something I normally could not have been...DE, dwarf, gnome, froglok, troll, ogre, etc.

Plus, I assume the WE mask helps evil people get around at least in some good zones (I know it is not perfect, since for instance wolfform you are still kos to some mobs in ogguk but not others).

Would love to have a similar ability to go to evil places ; ).

I think the WE mask is great for big races and/or bad vision races.

I wish I could have had one of the DE mask too...or that there were other masks to be had - personally, I think I make a very seksi erudite (thanks chanter illusion).

Oh, I would by far prefer a DE mask to any other race, because I love the way DE's look. I would play them exclusively if they offered the classes I like the best. :)

But, desperate as I am, I would even take a *cringe* gnome mask just to have some frivolous little toy to play with. ;)

Same here Matafleur... we had the whole thing planned, my 2 friends and I, and next day, bam, nerfage... was sooo annoyed!

I'm addicted to DE potions now, I've always wanted the mask anyways, but I was waaay too late to have a chance. Too bad I look like a butch lesbian in DE form. I'm also in gnome a lot too, and I look like a bondage fairy then.

I used to have one on my druid..but it rotted on a corpse. The only one left before I cancelled my account was on my enchanter..lot of good, huh?

Well, I'm sure I'll be hated for this, but I enjoy being only one of 3 or 4 active druids (maybe less now) on my server who have a Guise. Yes, I'm being a selfish elitist, sorry. :(

I have two actually, but the one on my wizard doesn't turn any heads~

I was at the DE mask camp the night before it was nerfed but of course one didn't drop. Same with one of the rubi camps in CT but got nada that time too. Congrats to VI(at the time) on lousy drop rates, a legacy continued by SoE.

I am sure they will honor the perhaps 400 characters game wide that still have an old guise.

Hard to see the point for me. Yes, I know it shows how long you played. But really, keeping such a fun effect item for such a miniscule minority of those playing the game just seems a bit silly to me.

I was 50 well before the DE masks were nerfed. I had Paladin friends who played down in Lower guk religously. This was i nthe days pre-Kunark when L. Guk had 100+ people in it without a mob standing. They offered me over and over to come get a mask, and I never did it.

*sigh*

I will always regret that.

now that you can all dye your armor to match mine, I need something to prove I been around and on top of the game for four years...I need something to show for 450 days played...
now maybe if they really make my name gold when i get to 500 I would consider it.

When i posted this I kinda knew that VI would not reverse the fact that it was out of the game, not after so long.

But seeing yet again a tired old "you can't be as leet as I am!" response, I gotta say, I would love em to do it just to piss you off.

Don't give a damn what you have in your packs. Never did, never will.

I would like to be able to have a fun effect item, and at this point, it is pretty clear that they no longer consider proliferation of illusions game breaking or class violating.

I appointed myself goddess, and this is a rant forum for opinions, and my opinion is you dont get a DE mask
