It seems that I need to get some Elysian armor in Umbral and I have heard it VERY difficult to get there through ME. I'm level 49 Druid currently.
SO, can someone please tell me how to get to Umbral as safe as possible? I need to know what buffs, spells, etc to use in each zone, assuming I start from POK. Of course I have my port spells as well, so maybe I need to port somewhere first to make the traveling shorter.
In ME, the mobs agro from all over I'm told, is there a safe route through this zone?
Once in Umbral, what is the best tactic and where exactly do I go to pull these Elysians?

Thanks

At 49 you will have a very difficult if not impossible task killing elysians solo. The Elysians are level 53+. To get through ME just invis up and run straight accross the zone. Avoid the skeles they will see through invis, as will some of the "floating cloaks". Basically con everything.

The zone into UP is guarded by 3 mobs. Sometimes one of them will see invis, other times not. They will harm touch for about 900 if I remember rightly, I can pretty safely just run through them whether they see me or not. But at 49 you really dont want to be seen.

Once in UP run all the way around the zone wall to the se corner. Theres a spot past the Vex Thall entrance where no mobs roam so you can kill in safety. The skeletons are quite near (just to the nw over the hill) so you shouldnt get any adds when pulling.

I found the best way to pull was to put up camo and go near a skeleton. The elysians see invis but most of the other stuff dosnt, so you can aggro them but not get adds.

Once you have them back to the corner, root/rot them. This was pretty difficult I remember when I was level 55 (before PoP). So at 49 unless you have some really good gear, it will be a struggle.

I got most of my equipment form a single group of myself and close friends. We went to the "safe" spot and did a 2 or 3 hour grind. We saw all the elysian stuff drop except for the tunic. I got the tunic on a guild raid that was going for Radir and stopped to get the druids some equipment. See if you can get a good group of higher levels to take you out there. When my group went, it was all low 50s people and one 65 shammy.

I think the hooded guys at entrance fear also. So if they see invis, I don't think it's a good idea to even attempt running past them. Druid pancake :D

The best way to accomplish it is to lev up and come in high on the zone wall. Don't wait to see fit they see you. If you run at the entrance straight in, they will have the maximum amount of time to cast on you. If you approach along the wall, you'll already be closer to the zone out than they are and you can probably make it. I've been to UP several times and I've never died getting in.

Yes, run the wall, around the corner *on the ledge* behind one of the hooded guys. Gives by far the most amount of time to get thru there prior to being seen, the least chance of being seen.

And at 49, you can solo them - it's just takes forever and a week to kill one.

I'm actually waiting on 51 or so before going. I want to get my spells for 50, 51 before, but it shouldn't take me long to reach that level.

Okay so are you saying run stright across the zone to the wall, NORTH of the entrance then head directly south until I'm over it and then run back out and around into the entrance? The map shows the entrance as a small extension away from the wall. I take it then that I come in, south and High along the wall until I get there, then a short dash out and then into the entrance...But the wall also juts out just south of the entrance, so which way?

The spell you really need to kill them is winged death (lvl 53). That, plus an epic/es vambraces for when you run out of mana. KEI helps a lot, too.

By the way, has anyone else noticed that the Elysians are no longer wandering around, as least not as of a week ago when I was there helping someone get the armor? They could only be pulled from the building foundations where they spawned.

It's not that complicated. The building doesn't jut out very far. You can cross the zone however you like, but sticking to the northern wall is what I see most people do who care about aggro. Watch out for wandering see-invis mobs, come down along the wall from north-west corner and slip into the zone out as quickly as possible. Keep invis up the whole time to avoid aggro from the non-see-invis mobs (goranga et al).

Get all buffs, get sow/lev or soe and Invis. Then you just run as if the entire gnome race its chasing after you, straight line from DSP entrance to UP entrance. Worked every time :p

I took a more cautious approach after getting HT'd, stunned then wiping a couple of times trying the chicken-run way.

The way i get through now has allowed myself and fellow group members aggro-free access past that annoying see-invis guard.

Once in ME fire up invis and head towards UP. Make sure to con every wraith (i call them wraiths :p) mob on the way as some do see invis. Once you've got the tunnel entrance in sight take your group to the left of the entrance well out of the way up the zone wall and leave them there.

Making sure no other mobs are in the area, load up Harmony of Nature - then still invis drop down until you can see the 3 guard mobs. Con each one independantly whilst still invis and if all con indifferent, make sure group still have invis up and just run through. However if one does con scowling, throw HoN on it. Then all you need to do is lead your group through the entrance giving the see-invis mob a wide berth.

Guarantee'd its a lot slower, but saves on the CR if one of you gets stunned and wipes.

Really, the easiest way for me was to just buff up, - used wolf form instead of SoW for extra speed - then bring up the map of ME and follow it directly across from the zone. No stopping for anything, just a straight mad dash. ME was always awful lag for me so I had no clip plane to see where I was going anyways, map is where it's at. =P

Just so happened Saturday I ran into a 53 Druid friend and we went to ME to hunt, because CS was camped. First time in, so we entered and went South a little ways and camped on the wall. Anyway, I got to see what was there and, except for that Hunter the con'd red, agro'd me and rooted my butt (I gated) it seemed ok, lots of yellows and reds and DB's, but the zone wall were very HIGH!.
Later, I went back and buff's/Invis and headed South along zone wall, passed a bunch of hooded guys and got to UP entrance. Stopped, took a deep breath and ...zoom! ran straight in without any problems.
Once in UP, there was a 65 Druid sitting there medding. We talked for a bit and she seemed to think that if I ooc asking to assist in return for second choice at drops it would be a waste of my time. I only saw 3 others in zone, she was the only druid and she didn't care much for Elysian gear, except her tunic, and the zone doesn't get many players.
And about that time, some knucklehead cam running into the zone in building, with a TRAIN!!!! Lost 90% health in one wack, but was able to run to safety...A side note, he zoned as well, and we sat there and he never even gave me a "oh, sorry" or anything...
My point is that since my first post, I've gained a couple levels and I'm just short of 51 (just dinged 49 when I originally posted). Should have 53 within a couple days at which time I'll go back with new spells and take a cautious look around...and I will ask to assist and just be nice in case there is some gear laying around...I hate taking without asking...8-)

I finally went up to try these guys at 54 and was at 255 wis. I always had on KEI when I was here, and it still would take me nearly OOM to kill one typically. And trust me, at 49, as good as the elysian gear is, you'll probably find it not worth the risk. As others have said, 53 DoT Winged Death is pretty essential here. You won't be able to land any of your DD's, and your root ... if you can get it to stick will break constantly. I'd also be worried about snare sticking at your level as well. On several occassions I had to take a couple of wacks to get snare or root on, and they hit hard enough to be annoying. I think max damage I ever got off of them was 199 a hit. I'm not 58, and last went in to the elysians at 57 (still trying to get crown, I have the rest of it), and it still takes awhile to put one down, even though I have winged death, ES vambraces and my epic now.

I think what we're trying to say is, you'd be a lot better off waiting for 53, they'll still be mostly yellow and red con's to you at that level and hard enough to kill.

Thanks...I'm 53 now, but waiting until 54 or 55 before I head there again (I have all my spells for both levels waiting so I'm trying to level first). Don't have my epic, but have ES vam's and WD...

I think you are ready, 53 is a good level to start these with these guys. They hit HARD sometimes with double stun so be careful. Here are few tips.

Root will be your biggest problem and most likely your major mana eater.
The safe valley/druid valley is in a " Ĵ " shape. So once you enter UP, go out and go HIGH on the wall to the right and go past Vex Thal invised, or else the guardians will see you (if you do get caught you can out run them back to the entrance).

As far as ME issues, I was 49 when I ran past the Xi something mob near UP entrance and he HT for 900pts, but make sure you sow yourself and just run past them to UP entrance. I didn't have any issues and never died once. Don't DS, they do summon.

In UP, once you are in the druid valley (J), and you are safe, camo up and go high on the right wall past a treehouse structure (its the one thats closest to the wall, it will have broken wood).

The trick here is to pull any Elysian that comes walking under that tree and it lumps down and gets back up. Those are the elysians that have the drops. The rest I found were duds. I have gotten 9 tunics to drop for me and my friends, and I noticed a pattern to these elysians. Any skelly/elysian that comes past the first tree (one with the broken wooden treehouse thing) has a higher chance to drop the pieces. Make sure you camo, run into their aggro range and run back into the valley (hopefully you are still invised if not don't train, lol) and snare/root/rot. Wolf form or Horse helps a lot here, but horse can be awkward to maneuver around. I used 4 dots, sometimes 5 (Stinging swarm, drifting death, Wd, and ES vambraces). Once in a while I threw a fire dot in there if I felt I had enough mana. KEI helps tremendously.

Be careful of the Corrupted Elysian Elder (the ones you want are Disturbed Elysian Remains). The corrupted will OWN you at 53. He is a level 58+ druid. Also be careful of Fallen Soldiers, they sometimes look like Elysians from far away.

Also I grouped with 2 sometimes 4,5 druids (yeap all druid group) in my group. It was constant pulling, most of the time multiple pulls and it was a lot of fun.

Don't buy Spirit of Eagle from bazaar, one of the elys will drop it for you sooner or later.

Be patient, when the tunic drops it will be all worth it. Good luck.

I went there not to long ago to help a friend get a tunic from there. With a full set of raid buffs I ran down and got me a mob of them and start quading away must say it was a blast.

I got a couple pieces solo at 52, but it took forever to get the job done. At 53 with clicky drones and no epic I completed the set myself in a few hours, but was taking 15-20 min a kill it seemed. Fire based nukes and dots were resisted considerably and really weren't worth the mana cost of failures. Root stuck about 1/3 of the time and rarely held for more than 30 seconds. Used a tanglewood shield for ensnare to save mana and was fairly successful getting it to stick.

I died only once during the process when (heh) I snared myself. I think a reasonably equipped level 53 druid can camp this solo with no problems though, it just takes time.

As far as the ME run, I have never had a problem with soe or wolf/lev, invis and sprint through. I always run straight up the big hill in front of the UP entrance and float pretty much on in. I've only been hit once.

And watch out for dark assessins, the second bunch of ellysians are very close to the Dark assessin camp. These mobs backstab for lots and snare.

Also, try to do it with 2 druids, lots of doubles will drop and since all but the visor is nodrop you can split it easy.

I must be doing something wrong...zoned in, went RIGHT along zone wall until it made 90 degree turn left...assumed this was safe valley. Got elysians on track, and moved slowly down, under the big broken tree house. Traked them fine, but couldn't see them, until they attacked, usually 2 or 3 of them at a time...ran to zone. Tried again, same...Again and the same...got fustrated and left...I'm 55 now, and figure I should be able to do this, but I can't see them in time to avoid getting agro'd by 2-3 at a time...

if i remember correctly, they sit in piles of bones on the ground... so... get a good targeting ring and assign a key to "cycle mobs"

hit your cycle mobs button and it should cycle thought he targets you can see... it was a really good range, so you should be able to figure out wher they are before you get too close.

I under the big broken tree house.

You just went to far down and in. That treehouse is a big traffic zone for several of the mobs, especially the elysians you're after.

The best way I found to pull these guys when I was young was to sit on the wall and watch teh roaming path. Sometimes you had to wait a while to get lucky with a single elysian pathing near the treehouse, but it does eventually happen. If you run to much farther down in their path zones youre likely to hit a trap, or on pull get a few friends with what you wanted. Not a good idea = /

I used harmony and snare pulled the single wanderers from as close to the wall as I could. It was probably slower, but I wasn't nearly as recklass as I am now >;)

I did this weekend finally!
I found the easiest way to get to UP is to invis and Run straight thru ME. Just run straight though to the entrance. Once you zone in to UP, Hug the right wall untill you reach the SE corner of the map, there should be a little valley in the shape of a J. THIS IS CAMP!! now on the other side of the hill there is 2 Kazeebo looking houses with the Disturbed Elysian Remains you want to kill. There will be wandering mobs but non to my knowledge sees thru invis only the Elysians see thru invis. Best thing to do is invis and pull elysians only. I found this not to be a problem handling 4 at a time with a decent tank. I held this camp for 6 hours. First time with myself another druid and a beastlord and mage. next it was myself and a 65 necro we held this camp with relative ease only finding that when we pulled the Corrupted elysian it was a bit rougher. Then thank god a group of friends decided to end my misery and help me speed up the process. 65 SK, 65 wiz, 65 ench,65 necro, 65 cleric and myslef 65 druid. i just went out and grabbed as many elysians as I could and brought back to the group and let them grab agroo, then I would go back and grab more, There is another camp if you fallow the right wall btw. This strategy took me about 15 mins. So In 6 hours I got Full set of elysian Armor for myself and several peices for random druids that was in zone. about 800 in plat and 800 in vendor junk, and a couple of drops from the corrupted that sold for around 5000 plat in the bazaar and about 4 gold of aa exp. It was definately an experience I reccomend all druids do,.

Congratulations on your Elysian outfit!
Just an fyi that some of the other undead also see through invis. I seem to recall the Fallen Soldiers and Netherbian Ravagers scowling at me while I was invis'd. A Netherbian Ravager often sits at the end of the safe valley. I would just pull the Elysians high up along the wall past him (it?).

i think dark assesins see trough invis to and they snare !
