I decided, since I now have most of my 53 and below spells (I’m level 52 ATM, was in Skyfire...boring!!!), that I'd head off to do some fun things and I'm now in Dulak. After the “treacherous” run through Guthank I zoned in to find a lot of unfriendly mobs roaming around. Just what I was looking for, so I bound just inside Guthank zone (can’t bind in Dulak, correct?), ran back invis and headed to the first boat where I Root/Rotted the guy by the mast (he dropped a Shiv, shield and Diamond!! Woot).
Had fun R/R and Quading until I had to log a couple hours later…but I noticed that when I first ran there invis, the mobs all conned “indifferent” now they con “ready to attack” even when hiding. I know I have faction hits every kill, but does this mean they’ll be able to eventually see through my invis???
Also, of the first 3 boats, which would be the best loot camp and exp camp? The 1st boat has 8 mobs, the 2nd has 11 and the 3rd has 7 mobs There are more, but not situated for quading as I understand it). From a pure EXP point of view, the second would be better just because more to kill in one camp, so re-pops happen before the camp is empty. But what about loot? I heard the first boat drops lots of gems (190pp for that diamond from a merchant). How about the other two?
I’ve read the guides so I know what they say, but just because the 3rd boat is suppose to be tougher, mob wise, then the 2nd which is tougher then the 1st doesn’t mean the exp will be better based on “exp per hour” formula. I clear the 1st boat of mobs and wait 5 or so minutes before they start to re-pop. Haven’t tried the 2nd, but lots of mobs there, so re-pop time shouldn’t matter. But the 3rd boat, 7 mobs?
What about the 4th and 5th boats as well? Not much in the guides about them…

You can bind in Dulak, though I'd be careful of the spot. The boats range in difficulty in the order they're placed in the the harbor. The final boat, which will be recognizable in that all the sailors are Iksar, has an event that can be triggered. All the boats have similar drop rates, in my experience. Dandolak is probably the most popular boat. It's the median exp-wise for the zone, and it's the last boat you don't have to break into (ie, there's a safe spot you can reach before going vis). You can reach level 60 without going higher than Dandolak. The last couple levels will be slow though, as the mobs start going lb at 58/59. As far as the efficiency of X boat vs. Y boat at Z level, you'll have to figure that out for yourself.

is the triggerable event worth doing?

I don't remember what it is. I just remember being warned that you can trigger it by accident, and that it's not a good thing to do unless you have a raid force present. I'd look it up, but this is the only EQ related site that hasn't been blocked by the filter-nazis where I work....yet.

KK, will try other boats to see. I also am under the "big brother" eyes at work and this the only safe site I can visit.<BR>
Didn't get to try last boats last night, made my first group run into POI and POJ...woot! lots of fun, especially when that 60ish level Bard tried to PvP the entire group: 54 war, 52 war, 52 Druid (me), 54 cleric, 53 enchanter, 50 war.....HEHE...he did well driving two of us out of zone, but we owned him in the end...BTW, where might that safe spot be???

It's normally to the right along the rail as you walk on the boat. I do not believe you'll pull aggro at the top of the gangplank on any of the boats up to and including Dandolak. On Dandoloak, I usually sat on the bow side of the siege weaponry between the weaponry and the metal ring on the deck.

Oh, I thought there might be one between boats as your running from one to the other...hehe. I knew, and use the gangplank safe spots.

Dont try the 5th boat without a group. Right now, at 55 I am trying to find a way to assualt the fourth boat. So far no success. The 4th dock is doable, but its about half light blue, so not really worht it. I'm sure the 4th boat is all dark blue, if only there was a way to break it. I'm still working on it, but it might be a mathematical impossibility.

Uh, made a run to the 5th boat the other day just to see what's what...made a run back to the zone in just as quick...hehe! Boat 5 IS AT LEAST GROUP REQUIRED to get close....

Last time I tried to bind in Dulak, it told me I needed to find a city. (So I bound in Gunthak at the Dulak zone line.)

The (human-ish) mobs in Dulak do have faction, but I doubt you started at indifferent. The only mob that can see invis is Chester Steelblade (whom you've seen on Track) but he's indifferent to all (unless his quest is triggered.)

Gems drop from every non-Luggald in the zone.

I know the Captain on one of the ships drops a charm thats 5 wis/int 10 hp/mana 10 sv magic and spell haste 2. Of course its useless if you have any type of flags in PoP for that charm but it was neat to have before they introduced the PoP charm
