Enough already. I know you are getting nerfed, and I sympathize. I can appreciate what being nerfed is, and it sucks. It really really sucks.

You aren't nerfed yet. Wait for the patch on the 16th already =) I don't think anyone really knows how they are going to nerf it. That thread was woefully inspecific. If you could, please keep your complaints to Monkly Business that would be really appreciated. I don't complain about druids on other boards (or with my cleric, I stay to the cleric boards).

Again, I totally sympathize with the nerfage. Spare me the drama. I am not flaming monks, I am just tired of seeing them complain on every single board I visit. If I did not make this clear:

What they're doing to monks is a BIG DEAL.

I seem to remember, not even a month ago, druids throwing a ****fit over clerics getting new heals and hammers, and druids getting nada. I saw references to that on every board I visited as well. We've been through it, and know what it feels like to be on that side of things. Now that they're going through it, I'll sympathize with them, and hope that the patch turns out to be a good thing for them. I've seen posts by druids on the everquest community message boards complaing about this spell or that ability or that class got something and we didn't or omg they nerfed this, etc etc etc for 2 years. Posts that you have contributed to.

Heh, monks whining about this would be like druids having the best nukes and heals in the game and then whining when they nerfed our heals so they aren't the best anymore. This was a huge imbalance in the game that has just been growing since about SoV. It should have been fixed back when they were doing melee balancing, but they just kept putting it off. I do think they could have made the fix better by putting the warrior and knight classes on seperate defensive tables or raising their ac caps, but either way the effect in the end will be to fix a huge imbalance in melee defense. Monks should be the hardest to hit, but they shouldn't take a hit just as well as plate or even chain classes.

Kildaere LiSiofra, I am not saying I hate monks... I am not saying I don't bitch about nerfs. I do (but *very* rarely). I was not one of the druids who threw a "****fit" about the new cleric spells. In fact I would love to see a link to a post where I bitched about a nerf on a class that I play (druid or cleric). Would be a fun challenge on your part since you have such a good memory =) I have been fairly neutral on my posts on the recent spell changes, so I would be very surprised to see anything.

Seriena, I agree I would be upset, but damn... Clerics took a hit (CH reduced to 7500 hp and it is easy to see how tanks in PoP will approach 10k hp, druids/shamans given CH-type spells) and I really don't see a huge deal with it. People can roll with the punches or let something eat them up inside until they are a bitter husk of the person you used to know. I hate seeing that happen to monks who used to love their class.

I am not saying the monk nerfs are good. I really have no opinion until we can see what happened (does anyoen really know what exactly was nerfed?). All I am saying is I am tired of seeing monks become so bitter and argumentative.

Maybe I am off here, but I agree with Talyena. Monks are supposed to be damage avoidance champs (dodges and such) but take hits like a 12 year old =) Their battle cry should be "Not in the face! Not in the face!" Not "SPOOOOOON!"

I actually used that not the face for an inc message once lol. My personal favorite was one I set up for what I KNEW would be a long pull back to camp. It went something like this.
"Inc %t! Man it looks angry!"
"It BIT me! I cant belive the freaking thing BIT me!"
"AAAAAAGGGGH! It just burnt me! My dear Quellious! What have I done to deserve such pain?!"
"MY ARM! Oh man! I thought the fire was bad but it just broke my freaking ARM!" (I TOLD you this was a long pull! lol)
"OH CRAP! Im LOST! Where the heck am I? ACK! Theres this guys extended family! FD FD FD FD FD FD!"
"Ok guys, This time ive only got its kid sister, im limping home now."
"ACK! This little girl is FAST! Get her off me! Get her off me!"
"Woot! I can see you guys n..... LOADING PLEASE WAIT."
Of course I gave it a few seconds between each message. All told I think it took me about a minute to get through the whole thing and raid chat was FULL of rofl messages. For some strange reason the raid leader didnt let me pull after all that though. :(
