OK, I get stuck in a wall, looking out over nomans land hoping I don't fall. Stuck in the duck position so I can't cast even exodus to save my life from the mobs beating on me. I wiggle out just in time to die.

/petition bla bla could you get my corpse and rezz me.

Now I can't do much cause I'm nakkid. I even went and smithed down some acrilia I was so bored. Can't log cause I need to wait for the GM. Hours go by. Screw it I'll attemp to get corpse myself (resulting in another death). Still hoping I can get at least one rezz. But it's been six hours now and still no GM. I don't know if a GM can rezz you after that long but doesn't it say something about the service if they can't respond to you within 3 hours? Next day my petition is still out there but I don't know if they tried to contact me while I was sleeping. What's the status of my petition? Will they ever contact me? What should I do? Open another petition about the first petition? And a third about the second just to be sure?

Back in ye olden days when I was in the guide program petitions had a life span of 3 hours. After that, they just poofed. No idea if it still works that way though.

Since they decided that we didn't need server GMs (You can wait all day and no GM is gonna see your petition... If you are lucky a guide will see it and *may* do something) I can't remember the last time petitioning anything got a result. Mobs pushed thru walls and stuck on the other side because of the code changes and bringing the whole raid to a hault because we have to kill that mob to unlock a door? The guide could have /summoned him, but he wasn't allowed to do that, and he didn't feel like bothering a GM. So we left :)

I believe you have to petition in Hindi to get a response. Try it and see.

I think they ignore everything that can be sorted out by a necro summon and res. They expect players to accept the bug and sort themselves out.

See if you can notice a pattern.

The "Press to Walk" button on street corners.
The "Close Door" button on elevators.
The "Protected by Security Alarms" sticker that are on every new car bought.
The "Petition" command in everquest.

If they didnt allow you a "way" to get things worked out you would be mad as anything. So they just have a button to make you think somethings happening.

Be honest. Whens the last time you petitioned and got a REAL response in a timely manner (without resorting to write your gm link).

Sony knows eq is dieing right now (Screw ya if you say otherwise) and are in the "Exploit users"/"Trim Costs" part of the expansion cycle - also known as milking the customers. Anyways, there ya go.

We've been paying the same monthly subscription since EQ started, but the service is getting worse and worse, now it is non existent. Anyone know if it is possible to take a legal action against SOE for this fraud and win the case?

lol the new petition ui is a joke. I've tried to petition about an abusive and harrassing player but couldn't get past the select an article screen. One article came up, but I wasn't able to double click it to open it. If you can't open an article, you can't petition. heh

You guys are complaining about your new petition buttons being broken?

The old one never worked in the first place.

I would just send tells to GMs, that sometimes worked. But they stopped having them on servers a couple years ago.

Don't know what to tell ya.

These days I just log and let my corpse appear in Shadowrest or whatever the GY zone is. Sure I have to be gone for a week, but what the hell, is not like I was doing anything in EQ anyway.

Heck, I was even able to rez my cleric's corpse too in there.

The new petition buttons are not broken. Load the SoE UI and reload the game. It works just fine. Atleast this did the trick for me.

I've used the window over the weekend when trying to settle my hacked account.

It's supposedly working, but I haven't tried it.

If you do get a petition logged, it doesn't go away anymore and you don't have to be online anymore to receive an answer, supposedly. Dunno about a stuck body though, but they did say they can return items to people not online now as well as send you a message when you can receive and see when you log in.

But again, dunno, haven't seen it myself.

This is 100% true. All the reponses from the GM's about my account was when I wasn't online. But not like I was sitting around waiting for a reponse. It was the weekend! :)

Over 5 years playing this game and I have never had to petition. I must be blessed.

I actually had a bad episode with petitioning about amonth ago. Got caught in a death loop in COM and died 5 times. I was finally able to psyche the mobs to one corner and kill me, so when I rezoned in I had just enough time to succor. I petitioned immediatly and waited... waited... waited... each time I logged off and came back on my petition had mysteriously vanished (lol). I had about 3 guides contact me over a week and all told me they would immediatly inform a GM of my problem.. so I waited..... and waited.... and waited.... and.... well you get my drift. End of story, I lost 50% of lvl 58 and was not able to have anything done about it because the GMs said it had taken too long to do anything about it. Whats a GM for again?

Well I added a new comment each day to my petition. Finally Sunday there was a reply (not from a GM). Reply said that I had two corpses in the Deep and even gave loc's for them (yea I died again trying to get it my self). Well DUH, I knew I had two corpses in the zone. Reply went on to say that he will send this to a GM now. Lets see how long this takes. Most likely can't get a rezz now anyway (unless GM's have the power to rezz after the normal time limit - which they prolly do but wont) so I bite the exp loss. No biggie. This post was just a rant on a system which doesn't work mainly due to responce time sooo slow there is no way it can help in almost any circumstance.
