now that I've read over all the spell descriptions for the other classes and compared them to the new druid spells, I can honestly say that the new druid spells are weak. in fact they're downright feeble. shamans have a 3.5k dot. enchanters' new dot is more powerful than our new swarm dot. paladins are becoming quite powerful healers. etc. etc...

there are some impressive new spells in PoP. unfortunately none of them belong to druids. at least they're giving us a new quadding spell so we can go solo our way to 65..

While I'm not impressed by a portion of our spells....

Yes, shaman get a 3.5K dot. So what? Shaman have always been able to out DoT us. The only Benefit to that huge DoT is the mana ratio. Take a closer look at that spell. It's a two and a half minute DoT. Average exp fights take a minute or less. I'm generally very surprised when I see one of my dots hit for full.

The new Shaman DoT will be nice for them, while stacking them on Uber mobs and while Soloing. But, I would Much rather have our "Feeble" Swarm dot that does 1400 in just over 30 seconds. I'm sure it would become one of my primary damage spells in EXP groups because of it's relatively short duration.

I was actually pretty impressed with the spells so far. Hoping they'll add in a chloroblast upgrade and a scoriae upgrade (fast casting nuke), and some of the spells need a bit of tweaking (low ac and hp on potg upgrade)... but overall, they look pretty nice.

As for our new dot, notice it does 240 dmg per tick? That's the exact same as Funeral Pyre of Kelador.

Yes, Pack Chloroblast would certainly rock. Quick casting group heal, maybe mess with the HPs, but that's what we need, among other things.

Spells are fine and dandy, my main concern.. will they be vendor bought or mob dropped?

All we need is another overcrowded zone that every druid on every server is gonna be in to get a spell that drops 1 out of 100 mob kills....

pessimistic yes.... hopeful yes.... holding breath.. not a chance

okay, I didn't notice the duration on our new swarm spell.. the spell is in fact better than I initially thought.. thanks for pointing that out for me <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/embarassed.gif ALT=":o">

hopefully some of the other things (like AC on our new buffs) will be improved before release..

and yes, I REALLY hope these spells are not rare drops off boss mobs in Vex Thal calibur zones..

It's only slightly better mana/damage ratio wise and considering it is 10 levels higher it is a total joke....

Unless it stacks with WD.

I have to agree on that part. I personally cast my coat spell for the AC. Not the DS portion. Loosing some AC is not worth the extr one point on the DS.

Personally, I'll probably never use the regen upgrade. I have a Thurg BP. Sort of like my damage shield. I have the POG gloves so I never cast my stronger DS. The mana cost isn't worth it in most situations.

I do hope they bump up the POTG upgrade AC wise. Seems silly that it has lower AC than cabbage.

I like the DoT's and Nukes. The upgrade to our "stun" is nice. The new Direct heal is nice too.

If the AE root we are getting is, indeed, damageless, i'm going to love that one. I'll finally have a root I can use to ghetto mezz summoni
